Let the Railway Minister take care of the Railways by Introducing measures to overhaul the maintenance of Railway Lines, Trains and Railway Stations in every respect. PM's Bullet trains can wait.

It is always after tragedies and loss of lives.
The Ministries and Administration are shortsighted. I think they are under the spell of BABAS. Offer Human sacrifice - things will improve.
Without Human sacrifices nothing moves.

Yeah. 1947 to 2014 was a long time to improve things. But you wanted to sacrifice humans. Nothing less. Eh?

Railway police take 10-50 Rs from hawkers
by vivek kumar on Oct 01, 2017 08:12 AM  | Hide replies

All the foot over bridges are filled with hawkers and railway police is also there. If you are lucky you can spot them taking money from hawkers Who crowd the bridges. Post this incidence one will not find hawkers for a month and again the same thing will continue after a month.

One more suggestion
by Kiran Sutar on Oct 01, 2017 07:42 AM

To the concerned people:

There is a congestion almost on all the FOBs.
Put a rod in the center of the FOB so that there is a one-way line situation. One part for going forward and another part for the other direction. It is seen that when a train is on the platform,or is just about to arrive, there are people moving in a hurry in both the directions. Typically at the entry and Exit point of the FOB and at the stairs. A rod in between to enable one-way movement will help to avoid such stampede like situation.

Why

Why we wake up only after something of this sort has occurred ?? You delegate powers, but keep check on corruption too, because these white cows of Rlys may still want under the table.

No safety or upgradation will help Mumbaikars
by Jayaprakash Balan on Sep 30, 2017 09:10 PM

No safety measures or upgradation will help Mumbaikars or give relief for Mumbai travellers as long as BMC doesn't stop overcrowding places with commercial complexes and big towers. All the measures will just be temporary with no big relief for travellers. Even 15 car coach is not making life easier and comfortable. Only solution is put a complete full stop on new construction of commercial complexes and new residential towers and let them come up in distant areas like Virar, Palghar, Kalyan, Karjat, Kasara, Panvel, Pen and even beyond and then think of interconnecting and developing roads and rail to these locations and these areas. Even redevelopment of old buildings should not add more floors than existing ones. Towers only block air circulation and put heavy load on existing infrastructure. Let people move far off than paying high rentals in crowded places. With internet and wifi people can work from anywhere and be connected. Else even after 50 years the story of Mumbai local travel will remain the same for people.
