Anywhere the media comes after the incidence just for coverage so they get ad and earn money. If the media would have active they would have covered before in such a manner that authorities would have compelled to mend. So is the case of roads which is filled with pot holes and uneven so accidents happen and traffic has become hell. BMC is useless and work with hand in gloves with contractors. Wake up media

The matter of fact is that such stories do not sell in country like India. You need a disaster to open eyes of people's Government BeejayPee!
Nobody's bothered about the plight of the common man in a city like Bombay, lest of all, Western Railways. This is just a tip of the iceberg. So many people die ON A DAILY BASIS after falling off from overcrowded trains. The politicians just pay lip service and act in a disgustingly partisan manner. Nothing new about that.
The railways has gone about being a reason for so many deaths with impunity. For the simple reason that they are being protected by politicians and to some extent, Indian courts.
The courts should pull up the railways in the harshest manner possible on a suo moto basis !!!
All this is well known, but the saddest part was that about 12 crores was sanctioned for renovating and refurbishing the bridge, according to the latest media reports. But the railway officials actually ended up giving only Rs. 1000/- for the same!!!
And to those people who sympathise with the railways, mind you, they aren't doing anyone a favour!!! They aren't working for free!!
But don't worry, everything will be back to normal soon..
most of the indians r corrupt and r self centered ..they cant park their bikes properly and spit on the road... added to that corruption. and me first attitude... we think we will vote one day and enjoy for next 5 yrs this is wat will happen angain and again.. when someone gets into accident croud nowadays start taking pictures and videos... when humanity is lost there is no chance that things r going to be okay in some time.

bhaduwe like you will only see negativity! Haven;t you seen people who were climbing up top and helping to save people desperately?
People should vote AAP and throw out deep seated corrupt parties of India whose ministers are multi millionaires but whose citizens have to die in tragedies like this due to siphoning of infrastructure funds by corrupt municipalities and corrupt netas / babus.

Over fifty five years back, I used to travel, daily, between Thana station and Bombay V.T. At that time, I recollect , the Central Railway used to claim that 'They carry a City everyday '( a population of about six lakhs). Now, as I understand, the same railway, carries about sixty lakhs in a day! What about the infrastructure improvement? S R Bhat, Hyderabad
