Religious fanaticism

Intolerance is a synonym for blind intellectual servitude to the dominant narrative. If anyone questions the ethics of Lord Shriram, who insisted that his wife prove her chastity by walking through fire, they will be prosecuted for trying to hurt Hinduism. If I argue that Ravan, though he kidnapped Sita, always treated her honourably, there would be many who find fault with me for siding with a wrong doer. An Indian cricket commentator who expressed his admiration for an exquisite shot of a Pakistani player was ostracized for several years at the instigation of a powerful media personality. We ought to consider some as all black and ugly and some others as all bright and beautiful. We have no eyes for the merits of those who happen to be different from us.

History is written by the winners. Much of mythology might have historical bases. So it would seem natural that mythology too was written from the point-of-view of the "winners".
