Don't misread Supreme Court order, Aadhaar not a must
by susarla suryaprakasam on Sep 18, 2017 11:33 PM  | Hide replies

ADHAR or a similar card is must in this country, and no Court should usurp on this legislation / executive order. Then every body questions why should we have citizenship to live in this country, why should i marry to have children. The country's cencus is bogus, ration cards are bogus, even passports are bogus, PAN card is similar. Then let us in all earnestness, start a card like in any other country ( In India, millions live without citizenship / with fake citizenship like in Benal and Assam) to identify, to correlate, to exercise franchise, to offer benefits, to apply taxes as per law etc.

This situation resulted due to neck deep corruption in every walk of life. As late as 2016 in Delhi and a Minister of AAP the anti corruption crusader has s/lly exploited an innocent woman for issue of a ration card. Now that aadhar has become mother, father and parents of all docs, imagine the plight of aam aadmi. This aadahr will in any way be the nemisis of BJP on or before 2019 and then will go on to be a tool of intimidasion in tje hands of all petty officialsh of Govt and bureaucracy. Watch these words. Beginning is from Gujarat.

Mobile phone is not your fundamental right
by auryas on Sep 18, 2017 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

Mobile phone is a privilege and not a right. So in order to get a privilege , all they are asking you is to show some ID ( that you belong to this country and you are who you claim you are).

If you look at the events, lot of recent crimes have been cracked using mobile records / phone records. So all those whose activities are dubious nature obviously are scared of being identified ( and hence hide under the fundamental right).

The advocates of 'fundamental right - privacy' do advocate for their sake - for their two minutes of fame - not for the privacy of you and me.

Unfortunately, the learned 5 thing that whatever these 2 minutes to fame advocates say, is right. The mindset of the judiciary appears to be more a fault finding one.

Too many conspiracy theorists
by auryas on Sep 18, 2017 06:36 PM

We have too many conspiracy theorists who scare the lay citizens using their boo-ga-boo tactics.

"We do not know what it is but it is dangerous. "

Aadhar must be made mandatory national identification in India. What are you scared of privacy ?

When you apply for a mobile phone you provide some means of government identification - ration card, voter id or passport.

if any one wants to get into your mobile records they can do so even using your records very easily. There is no need of Aadhar. So what is the problem. Is it because the government has access to your phone calls ? ( Certain politician from Bihar talking to some one in Pakistan ?) .

Nation's security must be put before the individual privacy of protecting retina scan data.

Are you afraid of Aadhar ?
by auryas on Sep 18, 2017 06:17 PM

From the slew of petition in courts, protests on the ground and in media's 'intellectuals' ramblings, it appears as though a section of people of this country is scared of Aadhar for reasons best knows to them. Ironically these are the people who first opposed Demonetization and when they were steam rolled into compliance , now claim Demonetization has failed. There seems to be a pattern.

The honble. Supreme court ruling has put to rest the ambiguity existed thus far on the 'right to privacy'. The Apex court said nothing about Aadhar. These are two totally different animals.

Now leaving the hogwash conspiracy theorists, present to you on the danger of the government spying on your 'travel', your 'phone usage' and your 'grocery bills' ( ya right , of 1.5 billion people) , till date no genuine argument came to fore on what exactly are these so called privacy linked to Aadhar are. Some one stealing your retina scan and photograph ?

Every single nation on the earth ( including sub saharan African nations) have national identification documents and the citizens are obliged to comply to the government's orders with regards to the same. Social Security Number of the USA for example is pretty much linked to every thing you own, do or say.

The real reason here in INdia for such an opposition seems to be that
- We have too many self proclaimed advocates of freedom in this country who get their two minutes air time through these things.

Linking Aadhaar to Mobile connections
by Kanu Mukerji on Sep 18, 2017 05:41 PM  | Hide replies

I possess Aadhaar. I don't even have a problem linking it with my mobile phone connections. However, being a senior citizen with health problems, I am unable to go to the Vodafone shop, which is full of people, and wait to get my Aadhaar linked to the mobile connections that I have. Hence, once again whatever be the intention of the rule, its implementation is flawed and people were senior citizens find it very difficult to comply. In this scenario, if the Supreme Court orders mean that it is not mandatory to link your Aadhaar with your mobile connections, it is indeed a very welcome development.

You need not go to the Authorized shop only. Go to any sim vendor and you will get it done within 5mins. He may ask for small service charge. Not any different from getting Jio sim

Banks may have their own rules for KYC. If bank makes Aadhar card compulsory and if you wish to open the account in the same bank. One needs to abide by the rule.

It is not the rules imposed by the Banks. It is the directive of the Govt. to obtain aadhar compulsorily for all bank accounts

Aadhar
by DIGAMBAR JOSHI on Sep 18, 2017 02:02 PM  | Hide replies

Some people are afraid of Adhaar because of their black business. When a person applies for Passport or Visa, he has to give his biometric proof compulsorily. In that case they do not raise any objection related to privacy. Think rationally, only one identity that is Aadhar will help to nail wrong doings of some people.

People having black(er pink) money are not worried about giving Aadhar number for passport, because passport is their final refuge to freedom :).

I feel the time has come to ask questions as to WHY we citizens are being asked to do this that and the other. Has an EMERGENCY BEEN DECARED as in 1977 wherein the rights of citizens are declared null and void.
Last time I checked India was still a democracy THOUGH SLOWLY BUT SURELY GOING DOWNTOBEADEMOGOGUERY

Masala Dosa;
Democracy was killed in 1947 itself when honest citizens were forced to pay income tax, sales tax, excise duty etc.
