Regional Chauvinism!!!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Sep 03, 2017 07:16 PM

The quality of education has dropped drastically, whether it is UP, Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu or Bengal. Copying is rampant in several states and several students are scoring centums in subjects, while many many thousands are not even aware of the basic subjects. This is the reason why this girl who scored high marks in state board fared disastrously in the NEET exams. And since political parties were getting marginalized without any real issues to fight Mr Modi, they cottoned on to this topic. DMK in Tamil Nadu is one key contributor to running down the quality of education and now they are voicing their support to students like Anitha. Pure political opportunism.

the death of a student at the tender age of 17-18 is just too uncalled for. Why are we keeping quiet? Why the parents not waking up? Is this not mental torturing of a brilliance and talent in India?
Solutions - we need more and more colleges, preferably with high quality tie-ups with leading universities. In order to supplement it, the govt should immediately start with PPP model of colleges/ universities and offer programs and courses that are recognised by AICTE or are accredited by universities abroad (for recognition) .

Sad?
by V Nagarajan on Sep 02, 2017 02:57 PM

It is sad that a young, poor and dalit girl commits suicide due to not getting a medical seat.It is true that she could have studied well and got it next year.
Parents and teachers must have talked to her and counselled her.
I have a few questions to ask?
1)What is the syllabus of NEET.
2)Is is really needed?
3)In what way will it make a student a better doctor?
4)All these years, there was no NEET so were the students inferior doctors due to this?
5)People generally oppose any change because of its unknown pros and cons. So, is it not mandatory that enough time is given for people to settle down and accept it?
6)Why no adequate time was given to students to get prepared? Why this tearaus hurry?
7)Was it true that different papers were given in different centers?
8)Medical education is in English language. How are students from state languages going to understand anything?
9)A lot of promises were given by every one.Why did they go back on it?
10)I felt that expert educationists must have decided things after a lot of deliberations and not the courts?

actually NEET is not for people of AP, Keral, TN, Karnatak..
NEET is for UP, BIHAR, MP, RAJ, etc hindi speaking people.
These UP/Biharis talk in hindi while in roadside toilet, they talk in hindi while walking, killing, steling...they write in hindi... and easily gets all seats of medical colleges...
Already many seats in AP, Kar, keral are captured by these ganduls..

My way or highway? She went too court and could not argue her point to convince anyone. If it is so, then you need to compromise with situation and go forward and give the NEET exam next time that is all. Why is it that frustration goes beyond a level where you suicide? It is like if I cannot win an argument I will suicide. This was definitely not the end of road for her. She could have studied for NEET and as per news she is brilliant and could have passed NEET easily and comfortably. Why did she do this?
