AkarPatel Given the state of India Pakistan relations,It would take months to process a visa. It is therefore a humanitarian gesture on the part of the foreign minister to intercede and speed up the process. if you are not aware of this basic fact, you don't deserve write such a motivated article with extraneous analogy.Editors should watch out and curb such meterial

Ministers and spokespersons
by Bharat Kumar on Oct 30, 2017 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

Mrs Swaraj's speech at the UN was delivered in her own style but was Modi-fied to please the PM. Her part of Pakistan policy is to win over the hearts and minds of the women and children troubled by the backward men !

There is little doubt that someone of Mrs Swaraj's age will also have a matronly disposition to the rest of the world and probably was expected by the PMO. Other matters are too serious for someone who has no physical stamina.

The same applies to Mr Jaitley. His highly irritable countenance and pedantic discourse is a shield against any hard questions. He merely holds a durbar conveying the mind and decisions of the PMO - quite apparent.

The ministers fall over each other to compete and impress. That the whole cabinet trooped to the Election Commission just to thwart the election of a Congress loyalist who didn't defect, speaks of just one thing - use any and all ways and means to please the high command. How are they different from the servile and sycophantic Congressmen grovelling at the feet of their high command?

I guess you are wrong in this matter Mr. Aakar Patel, not only Mrs. Sushma Swaraj all other ministers in central govt. pay attention to every matter, railway ministry, pertolium ministry, or any other ministry they all pay attention and solve issue, they are approachable and sincere in their work.

Mr Srivastav, This Akaar Patel is India head of Amnesty International and is a known Modi hater. He is known for writing nonsense most of the time and the people should not give any undue importance to such useless and bias person.

Question is not about wether they are approachable or not, question is why should a person find it necessary to have to contact the ministers.. while it is appreciatable that the ministers are reachable, at the same time there should have been drastic changes in the functioning of our embassies by now.

Well, systemic improvements are always necessary and is the main course of duty of officers in Foreign Ministry departments. However intervention by a foreign minister in exceptional cases is a sign of liveliness in the policy which was missing since many years. We cannot raise our eyebrows for these.
