The World Economic Forum (an arm of the UN)

has published a report today titled "Migration and cities" that traces the growth of migration of labour in the past decade.

Among several other facts that this report lists is the following :

Citing examples, the report said, Bihar, a state with one of the highest outflows of domestic migrants, has a per-capita income roughly equivalent to Somalia's (around USD 520) and a birth rate of 3.4 children per woman. On the other hand, Kerala, a DESTINATION for IN-MIGRANTS, has a per-capita income four times that of Bihar's (about USD 2,350) and a birth rate of 1.6 children per woman, on par with Denmark.

Kerala now has more than 28 lakh migrant workers, the great majority of them from north Indian states, who come in ever larger numbers attracted by the highest minimum wages paid anywhere in India.

What is well known among non-keralites is that a large number of malayalis work outside Kerala, including in the countries of the middle east (though hardly anyone is sure of the numbers).

The Kerala ministry of Non-resident Keralite affairs along with the Bureau of Economics and Statistics has done a detailed survey about non resident malayali populations. According to its comprehensive survey done in 2015, there are about 16 lakhs Keralites living abroad (out of whom 14 lakhs are working and the rest are dependents) and about 28 lakhs living in other states of India (out of whom about 17 lakh are working and the rest are dependents). Thus there are about 44 lakhs Ker

Keralites living outside Kerala out of whom 31 lakhs are working and the rest are dependent family members.

So, in sum, while there are 28 lakh migrant workers (mainly north Indians) working in Kerala, there are 31 lakh Keralites working outside Kerala !

This brings a rough parity in numbers between those who have gone out of Kerala for work and those who have come into it !

Interestingly, the rate of growth is higher for the migrant workers in Kerala than for Keralites leaving Kerala for work !

Good that China has at least a leader for 10 years, We have strong leader now as Modi, but due to our system of democracy, we do not know how divisive forces play their role for him in 2019 and onward.
Country requires stability in politics too, and big political reforms are needed, but no one has taken any step towards this. Even every politician is afraid of small issue of population control and common civil code.
