Give thrust to modernisation
by sasidharan on Oct 19, 2017 11:49 PM

THe govt:if it want our defence forces to be the best among the world's military, has to allocate more funds and DRDO to be revamped and purchase sophisticated warfare from any available sources and these purchases are to be exempted from that boredom of scruitiny of CAG or courts, without fearing bribe and irresponsible allegations. The CARGIL was fought with the power of that BOFORS field guns;on which the present rulers and wretched politicians accused bribe. We must be cautious in levelling allegations on purchases of necessary materials for defence and kick back is there in all international purchases.

Differeing numbers & differeing objectives
by dhananjay kritu on Oct 18, 2017 11:39 AM  | Hide replies

Total active fighter planes come out to a number near to 800 if one goes by Wikipedia and similar forum articles, 240 sukhoi 30, 67 Mig 29, 140 Jaguar & 140 MiG 27, 50 Mirage 2000, 200 odd MiG 21.
Then there are round about 200 trainer aircraft which always can be use for light attack or defense modes.
admittedly, the modern aircraft are less in number
So the task is to replace the old ones with modern ones as quickly as possible, it is not numbers that are miserably less.
OK, these numbers do not give a 2 front attacking capability, but still good for defense & tactical attacks?
These is always some confusion between numbers!

I wonder if there could be tax breaks for donations to the govt for the social sector, so as to free up more funds for defence.

Although the proposals have merit, the so-called defence expert Mr. Ajay Shukla conviniently forgets the fact of suicidal approach by the Congress Government who were at the helm for the last 10 years. Why did he not raise these issues during the previous dispensation? Is it because he had some affilations to Scamgress?
