Accepted there are gaps everywhere in the prepardness. Over the years all these gaps existed & with time it multiplied to the present levels. In every sphere there are lot to be done. Development, education, national defence, internal security, infrastructure, policy matters, money matters, health , overall quality of life, the list is endless. How much can a govt do within a short period of time of 4 yrs/ 5yrs. Everybody wants a 360 degree change in all the above. It should be without nepotism, corruption and all other blah blah. If the Govt makes 1 wrong move, all will bay for its blood.
The Govt is sincerely doing its best within the limited time frame & the limited boundaries it has . Realistically it is not possible & it cannot be possible to remove all the ills , without creating another bigger mess than the ones already exiting.
Let the Govt do its work. The intentions on many front are honest , but there is tremendous resistance from bureaucracy, corrupt people & even more the opposition. The Govt has to surmount all these hurdles , who have not added anything constructive .Will the nation& its people be patient enough to let the Govt work towards eradicating all the gaps one by one.

Well said MNN. Not sure if all those accusing the present Government were sleeping before 2014 or suffering from selective amnesia. The sheer magnitude of things to be set right is going to require at least 10 years of Modi rule

Great IndianNaval defence??
by G S Azad Azad on Oct 20, 2017 01:55 AM

i think like Army without Guns and Ammunition but Lakhs of soldiers forehand to hand fight , we have now Navy with just ships that carry men for travel !!!! The detecting and fighting acumen needed are missing !!! Yet Defence Minister as Modi Loyalist should launch these !!! I think it is time that a Defence Advisory Group is commissioned to look at the Gaps ( not to publish these as these should be classified data and info) to get our defence to match the likely enemies around us ? Other way is to adopt "" Vasudhey Kutumbkum "" policy and assimilate with the world at the ECEL of war . Then call Lata to sing songs in memory of martyred men of defence and shed crocodile tears !!!!!!!!

Rulers on the two sides are in tight collaboration.

That could explain delays in all defence procurement and extreme reluctance to permit indigenous research and development.

Lower humans lack wisdom about Upper humans, and are easily farmed like cattle and made to do bidding of Upper ones.

Partition never happened. A story was released to the general public that the country had been partitioned along communal lines. Lower members of the two communities went ahead with slaughter of each other with great gusto in Partition Riots.

It broke chances of lower ones rising together against the Upper ones, as the lower Russians rose against Upper ones in 1917.

Still does not answer the question WHY TOOTHLESS TIGERS are protecting our aircraft tiger?
Putting the blame on previous is an often used trick. WHAT IS THE PRESENT GOVT doing to address the problems "created by the previous?" or is it just carrying on the same

it looks like the guy was in coma when congress did nothing for 60 years and when MODI govt is gearing INDIAN DEFENCES...this agents come from nowhere and give their unwarranted comments and show as if only he knows everything and the defence minister and all other NAVAL EXPERTS ARE DUCKS....what a pity rediff also is an expert in exaggerating and giving unwanted advice to MODI govt regarding what should be done in defence while all these years we hardly see what they shown about congress govt defence and their deeds. it would be wiser if rediff have contacted the govt first before writing such long articles which sold purpose only is the portrait OUR DEFENCE MINISTER AS A FOOL AND rediff and their writers AS LIKE THAT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT INDIAN DEFENCE....

it also looks to me that by writing such articles again and again some vested interests are trying to give vital information to our enemy country PAKISTAN and China...

Ha Ha Ha. How naive can you be? "trying to give vital information to our enemy country PAKISTAN and China..." this "vital information" of all navies in the world is available freely on the net and in Defence Manuals the world over.
So stop trying to protect people who should know better than just sermonising to get brownie points at the elections.

Latest Naval Acquisitions
by K Bhaskaran on Oct 17, 2017 12:53 PM  | Hide replies

I am a stray citizen but felt sad and worried about the state of affairs in the Naval acquisitions of late.Like numerous Indian warships before it, the navy's newest anti-submarine warfare (ASW) corvette, the INS Kiltan, joined the fleet on Monday, October 16, 2017, without equipment crucial for discharging its primary role -- detecting and destroying enemy submarines.
We have a PM who wants only statistics and hero-worship.

Sorry friend, at the end of the day the Def. Minister and the PM are left holding the bucket because the purse strings are with them.
You cannot deflect questions on the paucity of funds for the Navy by flippant remarks like "let Navy answer this question". The Navy does not allocate funds for itself the Government does and the Govt. has been found wanting on this aspect.
Statistics and Hero worship will not protect the Viraat from being sunk because it is not protected because of toothless tigers accompanying it.

Chinese debacle ? which one ...

Am aware of other debacles like DeMo, GST, "we will bring back black money', 'congress also is responsible if GST fails, but we alone are responsible if it succeeds', 'photo op with broom on already cleaned and sanitized roads', and many more ...
