Comebacks are rarely successful
by palanki narayana on Oct 10, 2017 05:48 PM

Comebacks seldom succeed whether in literature or films. Among writers A.J.Cronin and Graham Greene were colossal failures when they feebly attempted to re-live their successes by writing after announcing retirement. Harper Lee and J.D.Salinger also come to mind. Erle Stanley Gardener's successful Perry Mason novels were followed by insipid DA series and Agatha Christie who should have stopped at her 70th novel went ahead with Tommy and Tuppence series unnecessarily.
