A state of the art

Ventilator machine (that is essential for keeping alive patients having a COPD attack or other such complications) costs about Rs 30 lakhs.

Both govt owned hospitals and corporate hospitals purchase this machine.

A govt hospital typically charges a patient Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 per day for keeping him on ventilator under the non subsidised category.

Whereas most Corporate hospitals such as Apollo hospitals charge between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 for a day !!

The contrast is equally stark for most hospital services between govt (non subsidised) and Corporate hospitals !

Yet, most middle class commoners, too stupid to remember such stark contrasts, think Corporate hospitals are symbols of *progress* !!

Atleast have the decency to quote the current year data or 2017. Who wants to read 2014 data. If you dont have good writers please hire some from the market and stop misleading the people with old and redundant data.

Things like medical tourism should never be allowed in INdia.

Otherwise , citizens of this country will be f ed by the corporate hospitals. As it is , the hospitalization costs are skyrocketing in this country because of the corporate hospitals.

is also one of the most corrupt, most under-invested and most mismanaged countries in the world in public healthcare !

Which is a standing testimony for the bottomless stuxpidity of most of its commoners, who suffer heavily due to it ! Most of these very same middle class and lower middle class commoners - who suffer financially and health wise due to the pathetic state of public healthcare in India - gloat about thieving hospitals and doctors becoming rich due to medical tourism !
