She seems like a promising young leader but a one who has joined the ranks of those who have got India wrong. Call it a cultural gap. Because if she lands in Japan and stars asking why do you value collective achievement above individual achievement ? well that’s how it is in Asia. And India has been at the heart of this wisdom. There was a conqueror in China called the Chinggis khan. His people started asking, what after we have conquered all the land and controlled all the women in the world? We will still be miserable inside. So they turned to Buddha or Sufi and Chinggis khan got a respectful burial in our history.
There have been great women achievers as individuals. Ma Radha, Saint Meera, Saint Andala and the list would go on. But the women achievers as householders are the unsung heroes. Every great spiritual achiever credited their achievement to purity and piety of their Mothers and the environment of the upbringing the women cherished. And on the other extreme we have examples like Ravana who blamed his fall to the material aspiration of his Mother. So in India like the Mongols, achievement is not in conquest outside but within.
Why just Indian women? Why would women and men become loyal staff of American companies, Why don’t they become what their bosses have achieved? So it time world leaders see through the pregnant criticisms of British Empire and explore India themselves.
