both DMK and AIADMK have no qualms in aligning with BJP because there is no "minnority votes concept" in TN . All these three parties are much better by miles than kongress , at any time. In an unlikely case of BJP falling short of majority by few seats in 2019 - both will be ready to back BJP !! .. In election time some sparring or mock fight does take place - but we all know this joke for too many years. The meeting is just to keep the communication lines warm for 2019 .
Modi during his election campaigns had attacked karuna and the DMK, who were the main beneficiaries in the 2g/3g scams. He also attacked Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit pawar who are by far the most corrupt leaders in Maharashtra. However recently he met with Pawar and started calling him his Guru. With Guru's like Karuna and Pawar Modi is meeting the right people and this will help him to capture more power and so help his friends like Adana, Ambani, Amit Shah to loot the nation.

Meeting an unhealthy veteran leader is to be taken as courtesy only. Most people think in that aspect only. However it is not the first time PM come to Chennai - while during his earlier visits not happened. Made political observers to comment differently in many ways. Active opponents Nitish Kumar and Mukul Roy are under their fold - the next being Stalin who has been active in formulating the alternate. Anything could happen as politicians without power could not stick to their principles

You are 100% right as TN people are very conscious and have political maturity and moreover educated. They can not be allured by flapdoodle and sentimental lecture.
