The ban on trading of animals for meat from cattle-fairs is not an outcome of any anti-meat eating agenda of the BJP or of the PM Narendra Modi. It was a result of urgent necessity, as a part of obeying the juridical system of our country. Whatever said and done, certain political parties are eyeing the media for electoral mileage in the name of anti-slaugther. Instead of crying hoarse, can they as responsible political entities educate and ask people to desist from eating meat, for the plain fact that meat-eating is an unsustainable practice and cruel at that? All animal slaughter has to stop at one point in time as our resources are getting depleted faster than we can comprehend. The movie 'Cowspiracy' is bound to help people see the 'other side of the coin', meat-eating is wrecking our sustainable factor.
Animal agriculture is responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust from all transportation. How can anybody justify supporting this? Meat-farming robs the commons, the learned Courts has to take into account the load-bearing capacity of the commons, therein answering the sustainability of meat-eating. Livestock is responsible for 65% of all human-related emissions of nitrous oxide – a greenhouse gas with 296 times the global warming potential of carbon-dioxide, and which stays in the atmosphere for 150 years. Even without fossil fuels, we will exceed our 565 gigatons CO2e limit by 2030.
We have so much wealth in Temples sitting idle .Lets buy and nourish these cows meant for slaughter and leather trade and meat export .Let them go dry .most ideal solution no body can afford to slaughter because we buy them at a price that they can not neglect. For a simple renovation of temple we spend crores of rupees lets spend on these animals so that beaf eaters be hungry for ever
The cattle after they stop giving milk or in Case of bulls once they get old , they beef to be looked after at the cost of at least 250 rupees per day when we as Country are not able to ensure care for the old citizens may mean utter disregard of the citizens while doing much more for the cattle . How to accord priority for citizens ??????
People who think vegetarians are not responsible for killing animals have no ground knowledge of farming and agriculture as they used to belong to upper castes who made lower caste their slave and made them do all the work. You have to kill quite a lot of pests whether organic way or by spraying pesticides - cruelly suffocating them to death. What is their fault? Just having a meal for their survival? They cannot buy their own land and survive. A vegetarian is responsible for killing more number of animals than a non-vegetarian who eats more than a meal with one killing. Also dont forget that plants also have life. Further, we do not have enough vegetables for all population to survive, human being cannot consume the kind of grass etc that herbivores animals eat, so eventually you neither cannot survive with everyone becoming vegetarian. That is the reason why carnivores animals are preserved in forest - to maintain ecological balance. Now coming to beef ban, what is the farmer supposed to do if he gets a bull. It is no longer used for farming, neither can he afford to raise it nor he can sell it when his own family is struggling for food. So he will stop raising a cow. This was what was already happening in many places in India which resulted in increase in buffalo population and reduction in cow population. With the new laws if implemented strictly across India, we will soon become country which has to import milk as it will become financially not viable to raise a cattle.
In her effort to sound politically correct, the author invokes sati along with Triple Talaq. Can you tell me, madam, whether sati is legal and when the last sati happened?
