Bengalis claim to be intelligent, and educated, however their behaviour tells a different story. Why would any community want to be deprived of development, growth and well being and specially a community that is supposedly educated. How can they justify communist rule for 30 years when the model has failed across indis and across the globe in uplifting people and is counter intuitive. When they finally decide to ditch the communists it was in favour of someone who chased the Tatas out of Bengal. I think it is a matter of inflated egos and not intelligence that influences Bangali behaviour. Most Bengalis have to move out of the state to become successful just like Indians earlier had to leave the country to become successful under the Nehru- Indra- Rajiv rule.

Every state claims themselves as if inteligent and educated whereas the data shows better hitherto as South Indians. More Tamils & Keralites (literate) migrate to other states than any other states - reason being seeking green pastures as others are weak. People goes out of India: this has been happening even before Independence (ex: migration to Srilanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Burmah, West Indies and Gulf countries) After computerisation more Indians (Tamils, AP, Maharshtrians & Karnatak) prefer to migrate in West and not because of as stated. Could have been seen more Gujaratis, & Rajasthanis migrated to other states since independence.Even now migration has been happening of unskilled to other states from UP & Bihar. India is ONE and people have every right to move every where. As the states were divided as per linguistic population this sort of thinking comes and local political outfits to gain cheaper popularity oppose in some places
Perhaps the author means that the BJP is hard at work spending immensely more for propaganda in Bengal today than it ever did before !
Which is quite obvious considering how lakhs of RSS and BJP cadre have been spending most of their time going around from home to home with their hyndu.......muxlim..........hyndu....muxlim chant, propelled of course into energetic action by the huge riches their party has come into in the last few years due to the munificence of the biggest black money lords in the country, namely the Adanis, the Ambanis, the Agarwals, etc. !
If it was the Congress party that earlier thrived and sustained itself on big money from big black money lords, it is the BJP that is in that position now.
And after such use of moneypower that swamps those of other parties, where does the BJP find itself in Bengal in terms of vote share ?

Considering that the BJP and the RSS have been working in close tandem under the supposedly eagle eyed watch of Amit Shah in a relentless manner ever since, the vote share of the BJP in Bengal ought to have gone further up above 17 % in the 2016 assembly elections.

I wrote several posts on rediff and ndtv news portal forums before the UP election that the BJP stands a very good chance of winning the election due to their twin advantage of immense moneypower (given to them by Indias biggest black money lords, the Adanis and others) and the sheer gullible nature of most commoners in U.P (the kind of high decibel, high visibility campaigns that only big money can fetch works best with foolish commoners) !!

I do not know about Russians, Germans, etc.
But I do know for a fact that Kerala leads every other state, especially north Indian states by light years in terms of human development index only because of the basic reason that keralites are much more intelligent and well informed than north Indian dunces !

The biggest change that happened was from being the most prosperous state after independence, it has now become a beggar state where no one wants to set up any business.
They have tried LEFT,COngress,TMC Rule but inspite of the oldest Metro City it could not come up and competes with like of Mumbai,Delhi,Chennai and Bangalore...Its ruler were Anti-Development and Pro Bangladeshi..Thanks to Jyoti Basu and now Mamta..Hindus are suffering.
