People want development. They need shelter or home. They need employment. Building Ram temple is secondary. When Rajiv Gandhi was elected with 2/3 majority, he was not reelected because of his slogan,'hame karna hai' but did nothing except appeasing the minority communities. People look for positive actions and not speeches.
Mr Kancha Illaih ( I will drop it, I recognize him without his surname), has been a crusader for the rights. Often, he used to debate with late Indiresan, an IIT academic who was against any kind of reservations.
Whether we like it or not, it appears the Hindutva protagonists have absorbed all sections of the society, with the exclusion of a few, who profess other religions. Without a doubt, we will see some form of radicalization not only of those who have lost power, but also amongst those who have tasted power and justify the means of acquiring it !
So, we will probably see radical elements emerging and going out of control. They were dormant all these days with a Government which kept them at bay all these years, starting with Sardar Patel's ban, which served as a warning in the early years of independence. Ban of SIMI, etc. helped keep the lid for a few years.
If there was development of the economy, in the meantime, the government would have resources and motivation to control the radicals. But with the development in a limbo, if not stalled, the expectations and restlessness will be a challenge.
Mr Illaiah doesn't believe in reforms, he would say Gandhi was a bania and not a social reformer!
The advantaged and disadvantaged, both in quotes, are apparently irreconcilable. The only option for the society is to issue a gag order on caste and religion for some time. Can the Supreme court issue one?

...are scared that they will lose their relevance in society very shortly as India will shed its caste based differences. He is trying to bring back the caste card to remain in control.
