No President can over-rule the government
by palanki narayana on Jun 21, 2017 03:10 PM  | Hide replies

As said in the article it is a win-win situation for Modi now. While it is true that some earlier Presidents signed on the dotted line when a bill was sent to them for the first time, now it is impossible for a President to negate any action of the government. All that he can do is to send the bill back once with a suggestion (nonbinding) for reconsideration.

This thug new President is a puppet of Modi & Shah. If possible then the new President will operate from PMO & from RSS headquarters in Nagpur.

The Constitution is there. Why do you worry?
by Kanu Mistry on Jun 21, 2017 02:49 PM

The Constitution is there to follow for every president. Why do you worry about this? Do you want the President of India to become nuisance creator on every day basis?

Two-and-half is better than one-and-three-fourth
by MS Vasan on Jun 21, 2017 02:28 PM

The man who was not made a minister said Modi-Shah-Arun Jaitly-Rajnath Singh as Two-and-half men ruling India...He said in the same breath, that India is ruled by a dictator...
Where was he when India was ruled by One-thre-fourth for 10 years till 2014: Sonia being one, Rahul half and Manmohan a quarter...?

BC president

Even after 70 years of independence the political parties play the game of caste in selecting a president. Shame on our politicians. This puppet will enjoy a royal life only because he is a dalit and act as a rubber stamp. Instead of wasting govt. money and time in the name of electing a president the law should be made simple to give power to the ruling party to select the president and appoint him with least expenditure of Govt. money.

Yes true because the environment created in last 70 years is completely caste based so getting rid of it is a super challenge

dear, caste system is a hard truth in India, which will not washed away until people stop supporting parties like Congress, CPIM, SP, RJD, to name a few. Same time there are many unjustice practice in India, which also needs to be stopped. Hence we need to support Govt to introduce Common Civil Code which can be a game changer for future India.
