clearly the wall street journal is not averse to a certain amount of plagiarism :-)

BJP has guts to propose a north Indian name for president. All north Indians must hail the decision. North Indians and industrialists from North India should support BJP and work for the welfare of North Indians to improve their livelihood. North Indians brought freedom to India. They deserve a greater pie than self centered south Indians.
The Ranganath Misra commission had recommended 15% quota in government jobs for socially and economically backward sections among religious and linguistic minorities in India.
Kovind had opposed the commission’s report saying it wasn’t possible. He was quoted saying: “No, that is not possible. Including Musliims and Christians in the Scheduled Castes category will be unconstitutional." When asked why Sikh Dalits were given quota privilege and not Muslims and Christians, he had said: “Islam and Christianity are alien to the nation." Not that, he was the only one and the Misra Commission report was roundly criticised by BJP including erstwhile Gujarat CM Modi who had reached out to Dalits and backward classes and debunked the report on reservation for minorities.

People are suggesting MS Swaminathan's name. He is 92 now! Born in 1925. He deserved the post before - instead of Pratibha.
