India-China relations
by suravarapu gopal rao on Jun 10, 2017 03:03 PM

When India refused to attend the meeting last month, why India should attend meeting with China and Pakistan now. And also India thanked China for its cooperation in becoming a member where Pakistan is also a member. And also India wants to have business and relations with China. If China's OBOR project is planned to cross over the POK, it might have the approval of Pakistan because at present it is under Pakistan control, but in fact it is under dispute. Instead of taking action on this point, shaking hands with China is not clear. By such actions, India's image will be degraded in the international view.
It was being talked of that the POK to be taken back by India. But nothing has happened. The delayed action, has been taken advantage by Pakistan and its all time friend China. It is apparent that China is taking care of Pakistan's interests against India's.
Unless corrective actions are taken immediately, our foreign policy will be under jeopardy.
Jai Hind. Jai Bharat.

What transpired in the talks?
by vilas apte on Jun 09, 2017 01:12 PM  | Hide replies

Modi met Xi in Kazakhstan on the sidelines of SCO meeting, but what transpired in their talks is not being reported. Normally our PM is a Twitter frequent user, why he has not tweeted is strange. Our media too is silent, atleast in the case of Modi -Shariff meet, it was reported that PM enquired about Shariff's health and his mother's health.

HYPE AND IMAGE BUILDING ARE NOT DIPLOMACY
by Thomas Philip on Jun 09, 2017 11:35 AM  | Hide replies

After boycotting the B&R initiative India's participation in SCO as a member is pointless. All other members of the group are with China in B&R which primarily aims at better economic co- operation.SCO also aims at the same. The Pak -China economic corridor passing through Pak occupied Kashmir ceded by Pak to China is India's problem.Realistically the area cannot be restored as it is disputed.Claims and counter claims should be underplayed to promote trade and economy.China has given up its claim on Sikkim and as far as Arunachal is concerned they know it is a lost cause.

Infact India should have refused SCO's membership, because both India & Pakistan will have same status. More in SCO, China dominates, many matters which India is sensitive to, could get approved by China's brute economic clout, much to the chagrin of India.
