State can tell how should Durga Pooja be done(west Bengal).State can tell to Not Ring temple bells as it hurts the minorities but state cannot tell that You should not eat Cows as it is Holy to 100 Crore People..Hyprocicy is too small to word to describe this.
Secondly, As it says that Culture of people defines what they eat.Is Cow eating part of Indian culture??The cultures imported from outside India cannot disturb, hurt, Mock and infringe on Indian culture in the name of Freedom to eat Food.
The constitution prohibits the religious sentiments of people to be hurt and Govt is very much within its right given by the Constitution to ban Beef.
In japan, Premature Dead Human babies are served in restaurants as food.Tomorrow, these people might demand for same in India in the name of their Right to select food by giving some absurd, illogical Logic. A line has to be drawn somewhere..If you cannot respect my sentiments, I bother least about yours

Perefect Governement is not entering kitchen, it is entering slaughter house. If people can eat whatever they want, as HUMAN RIGHT; then might as well throw out the Acts/Rules/Clauses of constitution regarding "Prevention of Cruelty to animals" and "Wild Life Protection".Cutting the throat of a mammal is Cruelty ? OR NOT. India was not envisioned to be Secular Or Socialist by Mahatma Gandhi, JL Nehru, Sardar PAtel, Or Ambedkar. It was made so by Indira Gandhi , during emergency, by throwing all opposition in prisons, and achieving artificial 66% majority.

Those who think this is about food are missing the point completely. Its about mutual respect something that Hindooooos have never got inspite of giving it to others. A crosss or namaaaaz has little relevance to hindoooooos but we respect them so not to offend those communitiees. But they can kill and eat something secred to the majoreety commmmunitty.
