one of the most (even if it is not the most) corrupt states in India.

After all, the most corrupt Karnataka CM was Yeddyurappah !

And he was so much more corrupt than all others that he endured what hardly any other politician has endured - a jail term !

Yes, I agree with you, it is most corrupt state. Only State in India you need to pay bribe to pay your house tax and other taxes (revenue to the state). I am from Karnataka, it was not like that. Thank you for publishing this article.

Karnataka may be among the most corrupt states in India and not the most corrupt state. Corrupt states are Tamilnadu, Andhrapradesh, Karnataka, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar - perhaps in the same order.

Reason for corruption
by namakhalaalmulla on Jul 18, 2017 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

The reason why karnataka is most corrupt from top to bottom in all factors are
1) Which ever party comes and rules, the situation will never improve.
2) If IT industry is completely removed from Bangalore, then the corruption level will come down.
3) The two dominant caste Lingayat & Vokkaligas are the main reason for increase of rowdism, goondaism, land mafia, underworld business, corruption, crony capitalism.

It is not only in Bangalore, it is throughout the Karnataka. There is no meaning in blaming IT industry

what if one ft.or half feet when water level is above head
by R ponnabalam on Jul 18, 2017 03:33 PM  | Hide replies

Let us not just pin point one state ,Karnataka. There is a proverb which amounts to meaning"When (Your head is )you are deep in water what if it height of water above head is half feet or one feet"All states are like that only. Let us think where from that bribe of 2 crores might have come when we believe that demonetization might have reduced the supply of Black money .Tamilnadu's administration is one of the worst. The corruption cases coming to light in India might be a minuscule,There may be more glaring anomalies. Now that IPS officer had been transferred? NO ONE IS QUESTIONING THAT? IS SHE AT FAULT ?.IF SHE IA NOT AT FAULT THEN WHY NOT SUSPEND THOSE WHO ORDERED THAT .IF IT IS AT MINITERIAL LEVEL WHY NOT DISSOLVE THE ASSEMBLY.What use if you say the givers must refuse to give .Why does Indian Administration system allow that? That means the entire administration is abominably corrupt. The village offices in My District refused to give acknowledgement receipt of application /complaint given. One village officer told me some 4yrs. back,"WE have no instruction to give acknowledgement".What the District Collector is doing without ensuring that are presentation given by by a citizen is given entry into the process of administration transparently that work against that representation can be traced. This transfer of this IPS officer at the present juncture establishes that the state Govt. is giving signals to every one to remain sile

All govt. depts are corrupt . Even if the govt/minster is not corrupt, the local official can still make money from the very same govt. rules. Common man make compromises with rules and regulations and pay bribes happily to get things done. The minister may not know the happenings at the local level unless it is brought to the notice of govt like in the case of prison privileges for politicians. It is alleged that professional enmity between the police officers is the main reason for this case brought in to light. PRoblems in govt is one can not straightway go to the media and highlight the corruption. One has to follow rules and proper channels for this. Problems is that this route is full of corrupt elements or protectors of corrupt elements. We all know what happen to some whistle blowers. They lost their life too. In the Karnataka case action taken against the officer for going to the media/not following service rules. At the same enquiry has been instituted against her charges. Govt can not be blamed at all as they not partner in this corruption case. Allowing any officer to make unsubstantiated allegations only make the administration more difficult.
