Bhadrakumarji, in the present world...
by pranab banerjee on Jul 04, 2017 02:45 PM

Either you are on this side ; or on the other.
NAM is gone.
Balancing and appeasement days had brought India under Congress party to a Nadir.
Having a sound relationship with Israel would be the best bet as on today.

India must not be carried away by Israel's bluster
by susarla suryaprakasam on Jul 04, 2017 02:20 PM

the author of this artcle appears to be agent of China- Russia-Pakistan axis. Anyone who read off India-Israel axis in Kargil war should refrreain from such idiotic propositions. You are not the only wise-man. About a million are in the wings in India alone. Read Chanakya and follow the path.

Yasser Arafat in India!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Jul 04, 2017 01:57 PM

The year that Indira Gandhi was the Chairman of the Non-Alignment Movement, the summit was held in Delhi. And Yasser Arafat was welcomed by relics of the Nehruvian dynasty. Only to be snubbed badly the same year at the summit of Organization of Islamic States. Yet we have no shame is supporting the cause of Palestine, which is wholly an Islamist factor. Do please remember that Jesus was a good 600 years plus ahead of the Prophet. So no prizes for guessing whose claim is more realistic!

Good one!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Jul 04, 2017 01:49 PM  | Hide replies

Former diplomat M K Bhadra Kumar is a keen Congress supporter, having served under them for almost his entire career. I would have only been surprised if he had supported India's engagement with Israel. Diplomats like Bhadra Kumar still cling onto the Muslim connect ... we have witnessed royal snubs like the one at Morocco and others during these worthies' tenures.

Shocking statement
by Kumar V on Jul 04, 2017 01:49 PM

"Israel has used Al Qaeda affiliates and IS as 'strategic assets' in recent years." I am shocked beyond words at the stupidity of the statement. Just imagine he was a Foreign Service Officer!!!! What service he would have rendered for the country? This is language of the Islamists conspiracy theorists.

A QUERY TO MR. BHADRAKUMAR
by RAVICHANDER S on Jul 04, 2017 01:46 PM  | Hide replies

I would like to ask Mr. Bhadrakumar a simple question. Does he really think that Israel does not matter as it is a small and uninfluential country? Does he not know that this 'small' country has withstood all pressures and pulls to survive in the'Arabian desert'? Has it not stood up even to the US when required? Does he think that Israel has only military power? Does he not know the 'financial' influence or power that Israel wields over US, Europe and even in world banking institutions? Well, he had better educate himself.

No wonder that in the past our foreign policy would not budge beyond a limit because of such 'enlightened' experts. We did not have ties as such with such 'insignificant' nations.

Bhadru
by Kumar V on Jul 04, 2017 01:44 PM

Bhadru open your eyes to reality. And look at the nature of the comments on your article. Wear the hat of pragmatism and not Nehruvian lenses. It is 2017, not 1950. And Nehru is not the PM.
