Grievance Resolution of employees
by Tapas Pal on Jan 14, 2017 09:13 PM

The decision that a soldier may lodge grievances to its Chief without knowledge of his controlling officer is very welcome. This is the best, effective and lawful. This to be extended to all Government organisations because in these organisations protocols and superiority complex damaging morality of all employees.

Now Soldiers Can complain directly to Army Chief
by Stephen Narayanan on Jan 14, 2017 05:47 PM

General Rawat acknowledges that Lance Nayak Yagya Pratap had used formal channels including writing to PM, President too but instead of redressal he got harassment. Is this the excellent system Gen.Rawat is boasting about? Obviously it didn't work earlier and the Officers instead of investigating, harassed the hapless soldier and must have sent a wrong signal to others too. On New Year Day when PM Narendra Modi was doling out food to Jawans celebrating New Year with them, surely the quality of food must have been excellent, as he himself would also have shared meal with them.

Excellent, the humane face for a stern look. Neither the bullet nor the billet-doux should miss the target / should not get compromised.

An Ombudsman is required
by Vijay Sahani on Jan 14, 2017 11:50 AM

It is better to have an 0mbudsman (like L0kpal) which will be an independent body with clear rules and timelines to pass reasoned order.

Will the Indian Army rise to that challenge?
