The West Bengal police, on 23 November, busted a racket that involved trafficking babies less than 24-hours-old carried out by a private nursing home in Bhaduria, Dist: 24 Parganas, Bengal. The babies were allegedly bundled into biscuit cartons and transported by road to a government hospital where they were sold. One Nazama Bibi was arrested and police suspect involvement of Doctors. This racket was there for three years during which, the record seized indicates some 25 babies were already sold. This is a classic example of one of the generators of black-money.
