Liquor ban. !!!
by G S Azad Azad on Jan 07, 2017 09:11 AM

Did Mohandas Karamchand Gandh( also called Mahatma Gandhi by the Congress which exploited him as a brand ambassador the best )ever said that the Prohibtion shall be only for his State of Birth? Hence the question that we all Indians have to answer is it right to deprive Gujarat of the free sale liquor when rest of the Country has no such restrictions ??? This sounds quite illogical as much if liquor sale in banned in all holy cities of India and in the next 20 kms we can see the sake surging like anything .,, then why this hypocrisy . Let us allow all citizens Right to Equality here as well, Jai Hind

Look Bhutan has banned smoking and all Tobacco products whereas our Govts thrive on revenue from sales of Alcohol and tobacco products.. We elect the govt to protect the Citizens but corrupt politicians are only interested in making money by allowing more and more booze shops and industries.Look Bhutan has banned smoking and all Tobacco products whereas our Govts thrive on revenue from sales of Alcohol and tobacco products.. We elect the govt to protect the Citizens but corrupt politicians are only interested in making money by allowing Bars, Dance Bars massage parlours and pick up joints etccccccc. My Question is do we need all this nightlife (pubs, bars, dance bar, massage parlours) and ruin our children and culture

This is pretty much democratic country. Who are you or me to decide what is required and what is not required. Somebody might say that going to temples is blind faith and spoils out children so ban them. Will we do that? So it is wrong to generally ban things...you are assuming that temple is correct and pub is wrong.. thinking can be other way round ..these things should be controlled more from home so that they are not spoiled if you consider it spoil...though banning is smoking and selling cigarettes I would be happy as I can quit as well..tried every other method without any success -:)

you completely misunderstood anjaneya's statement

he even gave a perfect headline to his post

we just feel good by saying ours is a democratic country and blah blah....

the truth is there is a big nexus between our politicians (all parties) and govt servants all over the country.

they have the authority to do what ever is good for the people but they never did it, keep fo0ling common man

See welfare can have different meanings..Pub etc belongs to entertainment..so entertaining people is also required..I do believe in democracy..too much tightening creates other issues only..eg- iN kerala now booze availability is less so drugs have started in aheavy quantity..instead teach your kids what is right and what is wrong and let them decide..some will go to pubs and some will go to temples...

I have visited it due to my uncle excessive drinks. I have been in his room on a weekend too. I know the issues but this happens to people who drink everyday from morning to night like my uncle.if you drink responsibly and only on social occasion no issues will happen.i also drink once in a month when I meet my friends...so educate kids..drinks and smoking is not the only evil..there are lot of others too like friendship with wrong people etc so educating kids at home is anyway a required stuff..you can only educate them and make them understand rest they will make a decision when they grow up..you can affect their decisions but cannot really change it completely...

One more thing...look at my uncle who actually was born and brought up in a village in Kerala where there are no pubs etc. How did he fall into this? He started when he was 11 years old, can you believe it? It was started as a medicine though and continued on to this..again there was nobody to educate him about it at small age..in that time, not many people knew the results of all this.
Again lack of education

Look at the lives lost due to alcohol

A 21-year-old youth dies in a freak accident as his three friends left him at the Jhandewalan area(Delhi) and fled. After booze party the youth and his 3 friends went on a joyride.

“Rash driving snuffs out three young lives in Bangalore - Three Christ College
students, were killed on the spot when their SUV collided with a goods vehicle on the Hosur Road, the students were under the influence of alcohol

A mother and daughter were returning home after shopping at Gandhi Chowk, Hyderabad, when 4 drunken offenders pounced on them in full public glare. When mother resisted molesters, she was thrown against a truck which ran over her causing her unfortunate death.”

Drunk' crane driver mows down biker in Bangalore

My Question is do we need all this nightlife and ruin our culture
We now have booze shops and massage parlours in residential areas
The no of booze shops is on the increase, politicians are giving licenses to shops in residential areas also.

There needs to be restrictions like nothing in residential area, age limitations, nothing near school ..in fact it should only be in commercial area...the other incidents you describe above are due to over drink but somebody who knows limitations will not do that and of course there are some who without drinks also are kind of rapists only..nothing can be done about them..I do not support complete ban as such but yes rules needs to be stricter..now adays govt also easily escape by banning.. banning is easy for them less work..
