The real reason

The real reason for higher no of crimes in kerala and Delhi are partly due to more awareness amoung public and consequent reporting of the same to the police which do not happen in backward states like UP. In many states, police do not register cases deliberately to avoid inquiry/due to pressure from political / powerful classes or to artificially show lower crime rates.

I guess the author hasn't factored in under reporting or non reporting or refusal to register crimes by the police. Numbers only reveal one part of the story, more so in India.

the truth can not be covered by statistics, the state is in real bad shape and needs law to be enforced firmly and if not done then the wrong doings etc will become a habbit. The state of UP is in bad shape, it cannot be denied

Highly biased article.

More than 90% crimes are not taken cognizance by Police. Police simply don't take the FIR. You must live in UP and taste the crime and go to any police station for FIR and see the fun. If you are not belonging to a particular caste, no FIR will be written. It is simply Goonda Raj prevailing there.

You can try as much as possible to deny that UP stands at number 1 in criminal activities. As you go on about the number of rapes compared to other states, but UP is number one in police not writing FIRs. That is the reason and your premise will come down tumbling.-Vikram Dureja

Crime in UP is much more complex problem than bad governance or law and order problem. The only viable solution is to break UP in four parts which incidentally is strongly opposed by BJP.

CRIME IN UP
by dinesh vashist on Feb 25, 2017 11:26 AM

Whatever writer may say but nobody can deny the fact that during SP rule UP is governed by Goonda Raj. Writer did not mention that in UP during SP rule all Police Thana work as SP's offices and it is not Possible to lodge a police report of Crime in UP. Hence comparison of statistics with other states is useless and without any meaning
