\"Life is good here. It is a big resort, and it is quite fantastic. We get vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. I spend my day watching TV and reading the papers. Two legislators told a newspaper that they were enjoying their stay.

End of road for admk rule. Fact is jaya was managing the rule amongst the casteist of Dravidian leaders! There's no one strong to manage them now. Time has come for end of Dravidian parties paving way for Cong or bjp? May be 5 years down lane.

Unlike the AIADMK, the DMK did not grow with the use of the filmi charisma of its leaders.

And unlike the AIADMK, the DMK has not come to an end of the road situation !

It has a new leader (Stalin) who has virtually kept the party united and has led it to 89 seats in last years assembly election. Karunanidhi virtually had no role in that election.

Dont expect the DMK to fold up and disappear, especially with no other strong party visible to take their place !

As per a write up by

the famous environmental scientist, Mr Madhav Gadgil (who has been engaged in the most elaborate study of the Western Ghat eco system for more than 40 years and whose work has been eulogized by the UN and several other agencies), the Cauvery river used to be a very healthy one till just about 3 decades ago.

Even with several dams on the river in Karnataka, the river remained perennial in TN and was able to support paddy cultivation in the entire Cauvery delta region (which had plentiful harvests to enable TN to become the second biggest exporter of rice to other states).

Besides paddy, the river also supported vast fields of plantain, vegetables and groundnut too.

The river is now just a pale ghost of what it was till 30 years ago !

Which is the reason why there is constant friction between TN and Karnataka over the Cauvery water.

According to Gadgil, the main reasons for the permanent damage to the Cauvery are

1. Injudicious interference in the flow of several tributaries of the river with haphazard construction of buildings and roads

2. A steep increase in the population depending on the river basin for cultivation as well as drinking water

3. Heavy mining of sand and mud from the river bed all across its course which left the river much less capable of retaining surface water (water just sinks deep into the ground where it joins several subterranean routes to the sea)

4. Heavy pollution of the river and its tributaries in several stretches by unregulated

Unless a part of the runoff from Western Ghats to Arabian sea is diverted to Cauvery, there is no hope. But the moment you talk about it, environmentalists will start a big agitation

What ??

Are you quoting any report or any remedy advocated by someone ?

And what is a run off ?

That term is normally used for water coming out of dams constructed for generation of hydro electricity, not for rivers.

Are you saying that the rivers flowing west from the ghats are to be diverted so that the Cauvery can be replenished ?

What kind of a mighty fool are you !!

So, you create fresh deserts so that a desert created in and around the Cauvery due to the stupxidity of common tamilians (who were stupxid enough to allow their rulers to mine and steal all the sand in it) can be restored to health ??

and very poorly regulated industries.

But......common tamilians (who are the ones who truly suffer due to the death of the Cauvery) cannot be expected to take such write ups seriously, can they ?

According to them, those who strip the river of its sand for enriching themselves are *Ammas* worthy of worship if such *Ammas* catch their stupxid fancy, right ?

The thirudi DMK (AIADMK)
by piri on Feb 15, 2017 12:00 AM  | Hide replies

is set for a vertical split !

More than 45 MLAs (the minimum required for evading the provisions of the anti-defection clause) may stick with Sasikala and OPS each !

And the path will become ready for Stalin !!

Unless of course, OPS agrees to safeguard the pilfered wealth of Sasikala while she is in jail !

That will not help the BJP in any way !

It is destined to remain stuck on the 2 to 3 % of the vote share it has been getting in TN elections !

As DMK was trailing by mere20to30 now goAIADMK,unless all MLAs of AIADMK unite, stable govt formation is difficult for AIADMK.same way Not possible For DMK too. That is thinking of People and President rule may have to be enforced before calling fresh elections. To avoid fresh elections which IDMK may loose to DMK,all AIADMK MLAs may eventually unite in their own parts survival,as many may not be reelected.May be in next elections national parties may step in winning more seats than last time.

It is certain that in the coming state elections TN people mostly may opt for national parties,as the regional parties hitherto led by Charismatic film personalities of MGR,Jayalalita& Karunanidhi may not be able to do as none of present film personalities can pull win for the parties( ala Chiranjeevi failed in Andhra).TN shrewd public are very much aware and National parties would be welcome to keep the regional parties under check by giving warning not to take them for granted

OPS has no majority and I know the law and it says none of the MLA have any creditability including OPS or anyone.

So no government is possible to be made.

I have done 50 percent of the work and balance I will not do.

Elections is the correct way as per law. Sorry
