The media circus
by auryas on Dec 29, 2017 03:01 PM

It is very sad to see so many lives lost in this mishap.

It is a known fact that each pub/bar/restaurant in Mumbai has political connection - either through ownership or through 'protection'. These pub owners pay huge election and other funds to political parties. BMC commissioner is a minion in the system who can not tow the line of these politicos.

As the owner of a pub/bar/restaurant, you never will get things done through official channels - be it for extension of licenses or modification to the property or simply change of menu. Everything is done pretty much back channels. Back channels involve NETAjis or some Bahubali type persons. DOes any one think that they care a hoot about BMC rules ?

There are dime a dozen loud media channels in this country full of over enthusiastic and noisy people holding microphones who pounce on soft targets - in this case the municipal commissioner. What do you expect ?The municipal commissioner supposed to go there and lock the pub because it does not have fire safety norms ? The moment he does it , same big mouths in media will pounce on him and accuse him of being a Hitler.

Remember how media treated Inspector Dhoble ?

Kamla mills owners have not left an inch of place utilised. It is very crowded and with no space to move around. They should be taken to task and put behind the bars

This is not a rare incident. Bound to happen. one can visit the new commercial complex at lower Parel and see the state of affairs of the so called new development. Haphazard structures cramped with deceiving exteriors. The entire area is dangerous place to work. Mumbai Muncipal Corporation and other authorities are blindly allowing these type of structures to be permitted. The city planners of Mumbai are making a mockery of the people living there. The big wigs of Mumbai Corporate world is accountable for the state of affairs. Their greed has no bounds. The common man is put to peril and perish by the top corporates. More such mishaps are waiting to happen in Lower Parel. BEWARE.

why only you are blaming corporator. yes they made money not for them but for their boss and shall keep some amount for their benefit. On midnite their boss telephonic and ask them to send 50K this morning poor he has collected 75K and kept 25K and we are blaming these corporators. There my suggestion is total finish regional parties in every level and vote only national party then it is accountable. now every one is showing fingre one another and responsibility for indivisual. in this Congress saved becase BMC is not ruled by congress for quite some years and it is continuous SS/BJP combindely and got benefited.
