Are only lower caste politicians corrupt?
by on Dec 29, 2017 10:51 AM

This king of corruption is trying to make it a controversy over caste. That is the reason he is connecting up corruption with caste.

Corruption has nothing to do with caste. A person when finds opportunities, immediately think of money, land to grab. The position of the person make him corrupt.

Biggest contribution is increasing population, for which he did all such corruption, Yadav who are otherwise upper caste, has managed to put their names in backward class to get forcibly all benefits to their community with all sort of corruption.
Their place is gallow, but our system permits politicians to spread hate among masses.

I shall do anything I want. The legal process of the country is not applicable to me. When proved guilty I cry "victim" ably supported by christain evangelists and mullas. I am above law and GOD.

Why not abolish caste from Indian system of castes altogether by acts of the parliament. Why only talk forever and not act.No body wants caste system.Appears no political party want to get rid of it,as it is an excuse for everything!

As per NCERT of XII standard, Caste is so strong feature of Indian (read Hindu) system, that sometimes it is more strong than the religion itself. Its really unfortunate...

Caste& India

To start with there was no formal education. Brahmins were educated in Vedas & Upanishads and were used by kings to be between them & gods to get their blessings, for victory in wars& prosperity in peacetime, because they believed in It . Vysyas were in business, shudras were the working class. When Britishers came , Brahmins had a natural advantage because they can memorise & interpret& reproduce. They took to formal education because kings are no more to support them. We got freedom, & followed British system , because it was working. After sometime others felt they are being left out& started clamouring for reservation in education& employment, & made people believe that it is the Brahmins who have denied them all these. In life everyone takes care of their families & community to some extent for preservation. The so called lower caste leaders who blamed Brahmins are also doing this. Even among Brahmins , many are poor , they get education in regional language ,& live life with what they get. There are leaders in all communities. Some are corrupt , some get punished by law when there are court cases. Some who have advisers in law, systems & procedures escape from the clutches of law escape whatever be the caste. It is knowledge versus ignorance & greed which causes all this. Vedas classified them as Devas& Saurashtra, the fight goes on&on

Though I am a brahmin myself I disagree with some of the pro brahmin observations by you. Its a well known fact that the caste system was protected and perpetuation by Kshatriyas and Brahmins as it suited them. On the pretex of so called class superiority shudras were treated badly and were denied education in vedas and also denied resources e.g. water, land etc. Can you give me example of a vedshala run by brahmins giving access to shudras even today or a temple ? The caste system ensured knowledge security for brahmins and land and wealth security for kshatriyas who represent modern day landlords. Since brahmins did not possess land they had to switch to modern education to keep themselves going which it to their credit. But their back ground helped them in this switch over. As long as we believe in caste system the nation will continue to be held back achieving its full potential

The middle classes in India,
by piri on Dec 29, 2017 01:53 AM

who make up just about 20 % of the population, like to imagine and keep trying to assure themselves that the great majority - the lowest middle classes, the poor and the destitute - would somehow remain silent and not resort to any disruptive action for long against the deep injustices dealt to it by successive governments.

These middle classes, at least the segment that has some reading and social awareness in it, do have that inner dread that someday not too far in the future, the lower classes might realize finally that they have been cheated of their dues by the minority upper and middle classes.

But yet, the middle classes keep hoping that such a day might not come if they keep drowning out all public debate about the exploitation and deprivation dealt to the lower classes !
