In the 1989 LS election,
by piri on Dec 29, 2017 12:05 PM

Rajiv Gandhis Congress, fighting anti incumbency and popular disenchantment due to the then full blown Bofors scandal, received 40 % of the total votes but could win just 36 % of the LS seats (189).

The opposition, Janata Dal plus Left front plus BJP, was united and put up common candidates after thrashing out a common minimum program (CMP).

IN the 2014 LS election, Narendra Modis BJP led NDA, riding on the anti incumbency against the 10 year old UPA and the massive disenchantment against it due to the 2G and coal scams, won 327 seats (60 %) though it received just 36 % of the total votes !!

The opposition, unlike in 1989, was heavily divided !

And look how this less than average performance of Modis BJP has been described by sections of the mainstream media as a *massive* win !!

But regardless of what sections of the media describe, Modi himself senses how fragile his victory is !

And regardless of how his bhakts labour on with attempts to convince others that he is invincible, Modi realises how badly he has damaged the Indian economy with the thoughtless Demonetization and the half baked GST and how jobs have disappeared and how the farm sector has been crippled.

And above all, Modi knows very well that it may not be long before his own massively corrupt acts - the P note scam by Adani and the Rafale scam and several others - tumble out into the open and become massive points of public debate !

It is with these realities in mind that Modi and Shah are hard at work with their tried and tested chants of hyndu.....muxlim.....hyndu.....muxlim.....Pakistan.....national......anti national......hyndu......muxlim..... to divert the focus of the gullible as ever north Indian commoners !

Voluble P M
by Bharat Sharma on Dec 28, 2017 11:11 AM

P M addresses about 200 election rallies in a year apart from other functions like seminars , inaugurations , social gathering & weekly MAN KI BAAT & all TV channels dutifully broadcast these events live & uninterrupted. So where is the time left for him to listen ? Rather it is a breaking news when he or one of his colleagues is not on the air . So realising his pre - occupations , nation must not expect him to listen !

He is listening
by auryas on Dec 27, 2017 04:11 PM

Modi is clearly listening to who he needs to listen to and hear out.

He is very however ignoring dime a dozen blow holes and braggarts who resort to meaningless, trashy, pages on pages garbage of analyses dissecting and trisecting society and population in the lines their sweet whims please ( and show off their genius of personality) from the media fraternity.

Saheb has won, why he should have not won, at last he pushed his ministry for campaign, played same old card in the name of son of soil, showed acrobatic tricks riding sea plane, take out bhoot of saeed , paki. (same pak where he landed without invitation). He made Gujju believe that he has mad runway for seaplane. Smart Gujjus smart Choice.

reason is really the alternative which is heavily bad which is pappu..could not capitalize on anything because for capitalizing on an opportunity he needs to understand it is an opportunity and for that small brain is required which pappu does not have -:)

In 2012 state elections BJP had 48% vote, congress had 38%. In 2017 dispite Patidar agitation,GST, demonitisation , 22 years of anti-incumbency ruling party vote share increases to 49.25% and congress to 41.2 %, stilla gap of 8% which is huge. In saurashtra where margins are very thin in one pocket of 4 districts (amreli/surendranagar/somnath/morbi) the score of 15-2 in 2012 changed to 1-16 , that is the reason of decrease in seats. whereas in remaining districts (26) the vote shares remain more or less intact for both parties.
