Gujarat was not a moral win for Congress
by Indian on Dec 28, 2017 10:36 AM

When a party rules a state for more than 2 terms, then there is some problem with the people of the state. See Bengal. There is limit to loyalty. Considering the report card in economic and socio economic parameter of Gujarat, there is no logic of the present Govt to remain in Gujarat. We at times forget that a strong opposition is required for the proper functioning in democracy. Three months back RG was absolutely written off. And coming back from there and the sleep less night given to the present Govt is certainly appreciable. Hats off to the people of Gujarat for reminding the Govt of its Raj Dharma.

Good analysis
by Manohar Rao on Dec 27, 2017 08:11 PM

Finally, rediff has started to deviate from its old policy of supporting congress come what may. Congress's appeasement policies, cast based policies and divisive policies are well know. The city based and educated people know very well about congress policies and hence this class of people are slowly distancing from this party. in few more years this party will get extinct and then India will become a true secular and democratic country.

Pappu is always happy!!
by rakesh mehrotra on Dec 27, 2017 10:15 AM

For the first time I have seen a politician being so happy on loosing an election and call it a moral victory . We had seen a glimpse of this after the 2014 defeat where Pappu look to be high on substance as he was smiling from ear to ear afte winning 44 seats. But this time is different Baj has an absolute majority in Gajarat a Pappu and his party have a VICTORY. Great news for the BJP
