Vikas V/S Mobocracy
by Bharat Sharma on Dec 25, 2017 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

Ego & arrogance of BJP has gradually drifted them away from the voters. The party has become ruthless power - grabbing machine at any cost - moral or immoral In the process they encouraged highly emotive issues like Cow - Ramzan - Kabristan ,Tipu sultan - Hanuman , Cow vigilantes & more recently Padmavati to embolden the mood among vigilantes & hyper nationalists - fanning prejudice & cultivating hostility.
Regarding Ayer dinner party ,PM made such sly innuendos about his predecessor, which transgressed political morality .
Media is being muzzled & opposition is always castigated.
Cheap oil & continuous tax hikes were put into vote - winning populist schemes instead of stimulating growth. Govt seems to distrust intellectuals. Youth feel neglected , look for jobs , not assurances & windy verbalisations.

Old Central Govts messed with education system
by Yogesh Murgude on Dec 25, 2017 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

They used Europe/US style of education. Passing all the childrens till 8th std. It reduced the standard of education drastically. Students are less interested in education and hence finally they got degrees but not employable. This is not only in Gujarat but all over India. Education is in very bad shape right now.

Second our farms got divided continuously into multiple childrens reducing it to average below 3 acre per person. This is very bad. If it is united, it will do much better.

Third, our population simply exploded in last 20.30 years. And there is no way everyone get job in this situation.

Blaming Govt for everything is of no use. Hardic used it to his benifit, and thats it.

What spoiled everything under Modi is quite well known by now. US/Europe style of education still continues in many countries and they are better than us. What has spoilt our country is our own people who elected communal forces and ambitions to power through that thing called "democracy". India is not fit for democracy because we get swayed so easily by communalism, and we "vikas" etc. becomes a myth, which it really is.

Also, the pre-Modi education system did produce some of the greatest Indian personalities, scientists, leaders, and people like you who can use intelligence to find fault with our education in the past. What we are producing today is yogis, ayurved ratnas, purohits, gurus-babas, vigilantes, shakhas. I think we should return to our earlier education values, systems and bring about a unhurried, wholesome development of children, rather than the rat race of marks scoring today.

Salute to the rediff-Discussion Board.

Your discussion board is normally much better than the writes views. I am too small to judge who is right and who is wrong, as every comment has its own importance.Like most of the people I also like Mr. Modi and his devotion to do his best for the Nation. But I would not hesitate to confess that he wants to change every thing over night. Should it be Corruption, Reservation, Hindutya or RAJNITI as one Family show. How I wish if he and his concerned people had planned in depth before NOTABANDHI and GST.
Similarly "Cash Free". More than 35% part of the country does not have electricity. Our farmers need cash at every dealing. So I feel Mr. Modi wanted to change 70 years' practice in his One tenure of Five years. I extend my apologies if by chance I have hurt any body's feelings.

Are you talking of sukanya samruddhi yojna? If yes, like PPF that scheme always had this limitation from its inception. I have taken it for my daughter at time of inception and had read the rules then.

The youth is angry and people in general are angry. But what do they do? No other option given to them or they do not consider it an option. Congress is a non starter so we need some other better party brought in. According to me CPI (not CPI(M)) is a good choice who does not do any caste or religious politics and does overall development rather than only rich people like BJP and Congress does

Election
by hayavadana rao on Dec 25, 2017 10:50 AM  | Hide replies

In India voters can be divided into 3 groups. 1.Rural voters 2.Urban Voters 3. Middle class in rural and urban. Non educated voters in rural and also in urban are influenced by false propaganda. Educated voters in the rural and urban vote for the development. Middle class voters consider overall administration and individual benefits. Here the middle class voters look for better chances of employment. Many middle class families also depend on the interest received from their savings. So, all the political parties should know how to convince false propaganda. BJP was elected by the voters belonging to middle class of all caste and creeds. So, BJP should not bring any bills or laws which might effect the confidence of middle class voters. Poor class voters might be bought with few thousand of Rupees but not the middle class. Also, BJP should control self styled Hindu groups and their unwanted atrocities.

I will categorize in better way.
1) Voters who are n_a_t_io_n_a_l_i_s_t.
2) Voters who are a_n_t_i-n_a_t_i_o_n_a_l_i_s_t
N_a_t_i_o_n_a_l_i_s_t will discard c_a_s_t_e,r_e_l_i_g_ion,short term gain, lollipop schemes etc.
Anti-n_a_t_i_o_n_a_l_i_s_t will only think of personal interest. So, they go with t_e_r_r_o_r_i_s_t,c_a_s_t_e,d_y_n_a_s_t_y,r_e_l_i_g_i_o_n,l_a_n_g_u_a_g_e_ etc.
There is nothing like educated & non-educated. Most of the educated also comes under anti-n_a_t_i_o_n_alist and U_n-educated in n_a_t_i_o_nalist.

Please invest in bond funds instead of Fixed Deposits. Their returns are much better and much less tax on the interest too if held for 3 years. Anyway, the banks put the surplus money they receive in FDs into bonds and make 1-2% extra interest. Why should you not directly do that? These bonds are Govt Bonds or AAA rated bonds of the best companies in India so they are as safe or even safer than FDs.

By and large Indians should start switching from FDs to bond funds. They will get much better returns with lower tax and can stop complaining about interest.

You can have either high interest rates or job creation. Not both. High interest rates makes it companies uncompetitive vs foreign companies where interest rate is half of India. That is why China is growing while India is stagnating. China interest rates are nearly half of India's interest rates. US interest rates are 1/4 of India's interest rates.
