Modi is a person of NISTA, integrity , hardwork and dedication. An honest man who dedicated his life to India. A man who has scruples and has good company of advisers and close associates. However much he was insulted and demeaned by the C grade media , he did not lose his cool neither he have up. ANd most importantly , people trust him.

Rahul on the other hand has ManiShankar Aiyer and Digvijay Singh and sleaze holes of media to support him and his dynasty.

author is living in fools paradise. just simple arithmatic shows congress has no big states or a base -to deliver MPs to add up to 273 .. article is a futile attempt to make a victory out of a pathetic defeat ( BJP had an incumbancy of 20 years still congress could not dislodge it )

One should understand Modi Rural and Urban divide will helping him. he learned lesson during civic polls , so he is cautious and developed Urban to keeps his tracts .He is more concentrated on Rural pockets where he managed to stop Rahul entering in to Urban areas to expose his development model , still the voting share for Modi is drastically come down from 60% to 48.5 % itself is sign of disillusion shown large section of people. Sure Rahul will concentrate more on all areas to expose BJP .

Compare 2017 with 2012. Not 2014. Different elections.

BJP vote share improved compared to 2012 assembly.(of course in rural segments they need to focus to improve) . 2014 was loksabha election. State and national elections have a different approach and cant be compared.

by ARUN JAIN on Dec 18, 2017 08:11 PM

Heartiest Congratulations NaMo & your able team & the people of the two States Gujarat & H.P. This was bound to happen. No doubt INC tried to give a fight to NaMo but again the country needs a strong, committed result oriented PM who is committed to see India as the Strongest World Leader be it economically, industrially, agriculture , spiritually, internationally .,etc. For the first time in history we see things happening on the ground. A positive force that is not power hungry & greed free opposition can play a very positive role as they will be united in effort & action for it is Our Country, it is my country, it is your county, it is country of 130 Crore people. And with truth, honesty, devoution, dedication, discipline , values & ethics we Indians cam certainly do wonders. Here is a virtuous honest leader very hard working visionary PM NaMo to lead us out of the woods. We must remember that even Rome was not built in a day. So it is De-Learning & Re-Learning for the good, the better & the best.

congress will bounce back
by skandan sivaramakrishnan on Dec 18, 2017 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

one cannot write off a party which is a part of the country's ethos. Its accomplishments may be good or bad, but the congress has been synonymous with the unity of the country.
Nehru once told that communism is not a threat to India but right wing majority fundamentalism is. Rahul Gandhi should know to differentiate between genuine equality and fundamentalism (both majority and minority) and avoid the mistakes his father made when he changed the law after shahbano case and opened the babri masjid.

nehru was wrong like he was wrong in many other instances or observations or in perceiving that communism is not a threat to India. The Sardar thought otherwise and got rid of it in the country to a large extent. unfortunately it blossomed again thanks to people like nehru and indira.

the gst was not a populist scheme. so was demonetization. then the congress played the caste card. and then the christians were asked by their religious leaders to vote congress. two other chota leaders were outsourced to break votes. then the anti incumbency factor have contributed to congress doing better than expected. all this was not because rahul campaigned. since all these conditions already prevailed rahul was projected in gujarat and steal the credit. rahul is no match to the invincible modi.

BJP is tiling in 19 out of 29 states. More than Kaangress ruled in 1984.
People have truly understood Kaangress now. Correct. :-)
