He is merely pointing out lacunae in our preparedness. It is good that the public also knows about these, and what actions need to be taken to rectify shortages. Such articles will at least goad our lazy Babus into corrective action.

This is typical of the Ministry of Defence that a submarine is delivered but with no torpedoes! Reaction to cancellation of the original supplier was pathetic! In any other country the Defence Minister or Defence Secretary would be sacked! In India this happens again and again! No answers from the babus--they are looking for a senior naval officer as convenient scapegoat!

Torpedoes were not obsolete . They were heavy torpedoes from Finmeccanica, a sister firm of the Westland group . Hence Finmeccanica had to be blacklisted as per Govt norms. Reason for blacklisting is not obsolescence.
Why do we want to discuss about the secrets of our war machines and policies of defense. In fact MOD should keep our power strictly confidential. Why our media want to let the world know what we can do and what we cannot do.
