How can the Indian naval might be boosted with the induction of one sub? India, given the long coastline, the number of islands, off shore assets and a vast expanse of EEZ needs at least 30 to 35 advanced subs. The number of operational subs is around 15 1 SSBN today. China has around 66 subs. Indian Navy must induct a minimum of 4 subs a year to protect and counter the PLA Navy.

True, our media celebrates too early. Only when we boost our strength by around ten new subs can we say we have achieved something.
