Even Ayesha jalal you do not get display
by R ponnabalam on Dec 04, 2017 10:50 AM

Sorry Rediff, You are not ready to display what a noted historian , Ayesha Jalal had said.We are ordinary people , you do not display what I write;that is fine. Why you do not give display to words of noted historian which already exist in records.I myself was not aware of his name.Unexpectedly it propped up in an article. One's like Rediff, leave people like him blocked out. From the name it sounds he is Muslim. What do you think?display or not?R.Ponnambalam

huge umma. mini umma, micro umma ,simply put local cohesion
by R ponnabalam on Dec 04, 2017 10:34 AM

"have a huge ummah (of their own) in India and a huge Muslim population.”The “huge “gives the strength. For the sake of strength the “huge” is soughtafter.”Their own umma “;Down the lane a group of same faith or same interest people become a mini umma ,down the lane still a micro umma etc.Honestly speaking it is there in india .The like mindeds in higher numerical strength outplay the someother like minded. if they are in lesser strength. Powerful villages outplay still less powerful.A strongman outplays a weak.People are always conscious of the locals -strength some sort of mini umma.Just by bringing in the word umma in place of local cohesion we should not ARABINIZE an indian culture -contour R.PONNAMBALAM

Create non existing problem and waste time solving it
by R ponnabalam on Dec 04, 2017 10:22 AM  | Hide replies

“more open to visible signs of religious beliefs,” Who and where in India has anybody questioned the kinds of religious attitudes, dress (etc) in the public space,.In Public space on roads NAMZ is done in India. The Indian in general fears questioning a worship- place and bows head there,Mosque, church or temple, don’t mix it with invader built structures over the then existing structures-.Would Britain allow Namaz on roads ?Here a chief Minister tells he is helpless. The question and answers are from the same source creating problem and wasting time R.PONNAMBALAM

Jain-priests(forgive me I do not know how they addressed )buddhist monks all dress in their way.In S.India Muslim ladies used to wear saries like anyother lady.Of late it is changing to the Arabian way.Everybody has HIS OWN WAY,IT is like Churchill's answer. When one member was speaking Churchil was nodding his head. The speaker told"The P.M.is nodding his head.he should know that I am telling my own views.Churchill replied"The speaker must know that I am nodding my own head".Everybody spends his own money dress his own way R.pONNAMBALAM

violence not for religion but for property
by R ponnabalam on Dec 03, 2017 08:57 PM  | Hide replies

" People might be (affected) by violence, " Recently there was a write up about the crime scene in states like U.P. ,M.P. etc where the percentage of occurrence of crime is high. The statistics there might be that such crimes against this or that religious group is negligible or in not there.otherwise our high decibel display sector would have brought something on that. The so called violence there in these states have nothing to do with religion only with land lordism and feudal make up. or of local muscle men
People don't fight for Religion. They fight for land-properties or money

As a matter of trust, all shrines which were grabbed from Islamic rulers in past just to insult Hindus, must be returned back to them to win the trust of majority. This is a social need to have permanent peace and harmony

men may come men may go but we will go on for ever
by R ponnabalam on Dec 03, 2017 08:48 PM

" present aggression against the Muslim population will raise tensions and might lead to some sort of non-violent reactions. You suggest Mohanlal Gandhis or Mohamed Ali Jinnahs for that,ie for the like of non violent stone pelleting, driving away of Kashmiri Hindus from kashmir , questioning the Indian Army about the strength of deployment of armed men against threat from pakistan and all that which are already in practice.Rest assured ;Mr, Narasimha Rao said"PAKISTAN,WITH YOU ,WITHOUT YOU,DESPITE YOU,---" ."Like men may come men go I will go for ever" we will go on for ever R.PONNAMBALAM

Equal citizenry
by R ponnabalam on Dec 03, 2017 07:10 PM

"problem here is not so much a religious issue"Right .To be political .In India you have seen Mr.Kamaraj, Mr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, Mr. Modi, Mr.Mayavathi , Mr. L.P. yadav nobody is stopped ."It is one of lack of radical alternative" No. Honest alternatives are there. Those who managed arithmatic secularism for 70 yrs know it well.Yes it is not religious issue. It is the issue of honestly and heart fully having to accept to be and be equal citizens with 6 more religious groups and not as remnanant beings of the gone away Mughal rule, yet unswayed by social Engineering prompted by external sources R.PONNAMBALAM
