The territory under dispute is Bhutanese.India had to somehow extricate themselves from this imbroglio since Bhutan remained more or less non-committal and did not want to be drawn into a conflict which affects them more than the two big brothers.Having been to Paro recently the word"protectorate" is detested by all Bhutanese citizens.Of course they realise that China is not trust worthy.Yet they do not want to be the lackey of India.The Chinese have moved board construction equipment and personnel.Rhetoric of some Indian politicians can be counter productive .The best course is to play down the incident which will benefit all the three parties involved in the long run.
Nw to ward off any future attacks and claims China will move in its troos into Dokhalam.
If it does not do that there will always we chances of an esclation of War with India.
Take the example of Kashmir and kargils now Indianarmy is permanently stationed there and protecting no mans lands in these countries and creating tensions with neighbours
