In recent years, in our domestic politics, we have been prone to talk in macho terms , large chunk of our national media take pride in talking tough & rough to - wards `` enemies `` at home & abroad . Political leadership should not fall in the trap of this hyper - nationalism grandiloquence. So we need firmness of resolve but expressed through a measure of caution & prudence.
because two Wrongs will not make one Right, it will generate third Wrong and so on. It is not 1952's India who was mute spectator when China was annexing Tibet. It is Modi's India not of Mr.Nehru's India. One is Nationalist and other was Internationalist.
China is caught between the devil & the deep sea. They are at their wits end , how to end the stalemate, without letting things spiral out of control. They are only street bullies , bullying around small nations , who succumb meekly. Now they have realized that India is a different kettle of fish, altogether, especially under a PM , who has made Indias intentions very clear without resorting to any drama like the Chinese.
China, as usual, plays its 'bully' card, it has sustained its intrusion tactics with bullying and has won out every time. It pushes in its grazers' team (PLA in disguise), then covers it up with a roving patrol team, to subsequently bolster it with an armed regular military team. It repeats this for a couple of years to establish a civilian adminstration base deep within disputed boundaries of 'meek' kingdoms and 'pliable' nation-states. It raises claim in areas of its interest for which all fall down in 'meek' subjugation as soon as it flexes its PLA muscle.
India has to stand by Bhutan till the very end, this has got critical import for the whole of India's nationhood. If need be, India should curtail trade with China with sudden rapidity. We cannot abandon Bhutan to the cruel designs of China. Let us hope that the China CPC exercises restraint with all its collective wisdom, keeping off from the machinations of Xi Jinping and his cronies. A China CPC with predominat atheist influence can help stave off conflict in these difficult times!
