The author and rediff are giving exactly opposite of truth. India will never attack pakistan, unless there is a major attack on India. India will never want to piece of pakistan. It is pakistan that wants war. It looks like rediff as usual doesn't want govt to maintain hardline with pakistan. i am really sorry. rediff editors, please don't think people of India are fools to believe whatever you write here

i thnk the intended meaning is the pak army will be forced to start a war to remain in existance. I dont think the article hints that India would like to ...please understand (with due respect)

The Author seems to be ecentric towards Pakistan. If now we do not treat this wound than it will become a cancer. The wahabism has reached into the brain of pakistani population.
Do not agree, war-no solution, PAK is already at war with us with minimum cost, we are not shifting separatists in mass scale from Kashmir as they pushed Pandits. If Govt. cannot do, they should allow people from rest of the country in lakhs to march to Kashmir and push all separatists from valley. No one can face crowd.

Even hypothetically speaking what you are proposing is a dangerous & foolish choice. Allowing other people from across the nation to march into J&K & to try & push away the separatists will lead to a riot. We must understand that separatists find traction only when common people support them & today not less than 35-40% of the Kashmiri youth population feels separatists are right. Else when Burhan wani was neutralised, as per army estimates 16000-18000 people attended the funeral.
If it was only paid crowd not more than 500-600 would have been mobilised. Successive govts in the centre & the state since 1952 have blundered & bungled repeatedly due to which the situation has come to the present sorry state. It was a complex problem right since the state signed the accession instrument & govts have only kept on piling problems onto to it.

did you say riot ? It is a numbers game....when Pandits were clobbered and chased away there were no riots. Settling people from other parts of India in Kashmir is the only solution to Kashmir problem.

Anuya Singh is right. The strong opposition from Kashmiris to temporarily allot some land for the Amarnath pilgrims is an eye opener.
