Second incident first. Our soldiers in LOC and the SIACHEN are facing hardships beyond words but they hold on for the sake of the nation at the greatest of risks. Soldiering kashmir streets any day is not as risky despite the terrorists. But this is an election duty and the civilian authorities are equally responsible. You call this less than 10% vote-cast an election, and add on to the disturbed area by treating an hapeless individual ? knowing well that it creates worst of situations ?? this is not the place to display talent which will end up adding fuel to fire.
First incident, makes everyone to loose temper but why army has to show restrain ? what for ? at the worst if it is not correct to react then, reaction is necessary immediately after gathering the force, nobody accepts a soldier being treated shabbily by mobs. Is it not the army at the receiving end again ??
Kashmir is a man made issue, indian rulers who tolerate separatists, allows them to travel and deal with worst enemy pakistan, people don't accept india their nation even after 7 decades, and pundits driven out and of course the worst case of "DOVES" despite loss of precious armymen
Why army should allow itself a scapegoat ??? Take a stand of either "fight" or "disengage".
Meaningful conclusion , but kashmiris claim india not theirs ? let parliament facilitate non-kashmiris settle there to end the menace finally

Excellent write-up. End all the alms and charity for Kashmir, abolish all the special laws enjoyed by them and make applicable the law of land uni-formally as in rest of the country to Kashmir also.
Indian Army not only defends the country but builds human lives. We are proud of Indian Army.. We want the Indian Army to be clean. Mistakes are done by anyone. Thats the reason we must go for an impartial enquiry and build a case. Dont Politicize and add Religion to everything

This article is well timed. Ask Pankaj Mishra, whether he will agree deportation of only one lakh muslims to POK or Pakistan which they love so much, in retaliation of more that five lakhs Kashmiri Pandits thrown out of Kashmir.
