BJP welcomes 'clean, strong' leaders to gain footing in Odisha,

If a person defects from other parties to BJP, it is perfectly alright. On the other hand, if someone goes from BJP to other party, it is not palatable. Right now, because BJP is riding on the victory wave for the time being, some people from other parties are trying to jump wagons. When the stage comes when BJP is at the receiving end, these same people who had jumped to BJP will be the first to desert it. Not only this, the Congress MLA who defected to BJP recently and contested on BJP ticket in Karnataka tasted a humiliating defeat in the by-elections. So much for defectors. Bereft of winners, BJP has always induced and encouraged disgruntled people from other parties to join its ranks, which has proved counter-productive.
