CPEC will prove last nail in Pakistan's Coffin.
over burdened economy of Pakistan will not be able to bear the consequences of CPEC which will be political as well because all the other states are already suspicious of Punjab dominated Rulers of Pakistan.
China will enrich it self at the cost of Pakistan. With downing of economy, causing unemployment in China, by employing of their youths in other's land (Pakistan's land) at Pakistan's cost is a great idea. Further the expenses incurred by China in construction will be treated as development cost , termed as LOAN refundable with low interest.
China is fooling Pakistan , similar such case has already happened where China fooled Burmese Government. Still the loan stands against Burma Govt. and causing humiliation for them. It was related to some road construction in Burma. 85% expenditure was incurred in the name of Burma .
Pakistan is also going to lose at last and helpless too.

It looks like a sell out of Pakistani people to the Chinese who might start treating them as women being paid/given large sums for providing pleasures. Employment if at all, will be at very lower levels since the 80% employees and workmen will be the Chinese at vital places. Pakistan will also provide guards while the Chinese laugh all the way back to Beijing counting their profits.

China is & will always be an International Bully!
by Ravi on Apr 10, 2017 04:42 PM  | Hide replies

China is & will always be an International Bully! China bullying every one and dictating terms with all neighbors will only lead to China's isolation and its economic misfortune. Hope they change their ways before its too late! China must realise, its not dealing with India of 1962. If China doesn't recognise the core interests of India then they will always be in the receiving end with Indias disproportionate reciprocation putting down Chinese international stature down the drain. One Dalai Lama is equal to all the Political Leaders of China and so the Chinese Polit Bureau is afraid. China has proved India right that India does have leverage against China by using Tibet, Taiwan & Turkistan. This is just the start, all countries who are being forced to accept the Chinese order will stand against it when they see that they can also use one these leverages against China.

Ravi seems you are in a dream. India despite its loyalty to US, UK,Japan, could not get NSG or UN entry, because of China's and another 12-13 countries objection. For your information China is the largest trading partner of over 100 countries in the world, including USA,EU,Russia, Australia, AU, LAU, ASEAN, etc. On the other hand, India is the largest trading partner of only Bhutan & maybe Nepal. In the current era it is your economic clout which counts, which unfortunately China has in ample quantities. The biggest eg of this is Trump in his recent meeting with Xi did not criticise China even a single time, despite his earlier utterances, with the result western media and ours fell silent.

So, your logic is that as China is the largest trading partner of over 100 countries and so you should suck the trunk between their legs

In the wake of CPEC China will take over Pakistan very soon. They are depolying their Army in Pakistan and Pakistan is no way can oppose China in any case. Pakistan will be a slave to China very soon.

It why the Chinese have been treating the Pakistanis like bossom-pal. It is unlikely that they could read the Chinese hidden agenda. Well, lets wait, it will hit them very soon. But pity the common citizen of the country.

I have a different take on this.
by Mahendra Singh on Apr 10, 2017 02:55 PM

When Gwadar port was developed by China before it was handed on a long term contract to Singapore, it was known that Singapore will be squeezed out and China will prevail, and so did it happen accordingly.
China is in for a long haul on CPEC. The first phase of the project is about infrastructure creation including road, rail and Power. Massive chunks of land is leased out to China. This land lease is exclusively for Chinese firms who will set-up their industries. The most polluting ones will be relocated first and then the others. Considering that Pakistani labour is 6 - 7 times cheaper than Chinese labour, this is going to be win-win situation for both countries.
India need to keep its eyes and ears open not only for POK, but also how these industries will compete and beat the Indian advantage of cheaper labour and shorter shipping transport distances to China, American and European continents.
