The Farmers of India
by Bincy on Mar 11, 2018 11:15 AM

In North India, many years, up to this time we are facing the Leaders and Political parties as, "BY THE GUNDAS AND FOR THE GUNDAS". Where ever the Labour Parties rule, there we can see the real democracy that is “BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE Thank God the things will happen sooner the future. Ordinary people like us fed up of these Bloody Jute promising leaders.

This item of news appears to be sponsored by REDIFF.
It has lost all its importance. Even Rahul Gandhi spending good time with his grand mother, and Stalin in his own world.

Is it not a wastage of space for some messages to be repeated more than 5 times? This is standard procedure of Sangh pariwar to shout from the rooftops repeatedly when you know that there is littele substance to what you say.

The govt of Maharashtra
by piri on Jun 13, 2017 09:16 PM  | Hide replies

will need Rs. 1.3 lakh crores to deliver on its promise of waiving the loans of small and medium farmers with land holdings upto 5 acres !

And M.P will need Rs. 36000 crores if it were to follow suit !

While the Maharashtra govt capitulated at the first signs of trouble from farmers, the M.P govt still hopes it can carry on with its shows of the CMs fast and sound bytes praising the role of farmers without really having to promise loan waivers !

Either way, the governments in these states (as well as that in Rajasthan and perhaps those in many other states as well) now find themselves caught in a cleft stick with little options left but to capitulate and severely compromise the financial health of their states.

And the final nail in the coffin has been promised today by Arun Jaitley, the union finance minister who reiterated that the centre will not and cannot come to the aid of such states to help in delivering on their promises to farmers !

A veritable Pandoras box was indeed opened by Narendra the komaaaaali when he recklessly promised higher MSPs and a 50 % return on investment for farmers during his campaign in the 2014 LS election !

BJP thought that like all other promises of Modiji during election campaign this promise to farmers also will not be taken seriously. Alas, Modiji should have realised that you can fool some people some time but not all the people all the times. After this term of 5 years of Modi regime voters will realise that Modi govt was the worst govt we had after independence.

Farmers agitation for Loan Waiver.
by Kuppuswamy Rangaswamy on Jun 11, 2017 08:56 AM  | Hide replies

The agitating Tamil Nadu Farmers don't look like starving poor farmers. They seem to be Land Lords looking for waiver of their loans taking advantage of the agitation.
Loan shall be waived for really deserving and poor farmers only.

There should not be loan waiver... this has become nuisance... poor as well as Rich farmers getting subsidy etc are demanding for loan waiver intentionally not paying .value of land is in lakhs of rupees... every year you can not afford loan waiver...this is vicious circle...farmers are not the only poor n committing suicide in India... moreover sons n daughters, brothers of many farmers are employed n earning.. there should be some new idea like corporate farming as for small n marginal farmers agri income will be less, other source of income should also be there... industrialists are giving jobs, paying taxes, charges, establishing industries... failure of business is attributed to many reasons...no one likes to run business into losses but to earn n rise....instead of giving examples of others there is need to find out permanent solution for farmers.....instead of loan waiver....

Objectionable title
by Krishnakumar Narayanan on Jun 08, 2017 03:02 PM  | Hide replies

It is an acknowledged fact that farmers are not getting their dues and respect proportional to the service they do to the nation. All governments at centre and states are responsible for this plight.

But it is highly objectionable and immature to say that the country is rejoicing when farmers are dying. Many leaders and advocates of farmer distress squarely blame people of other fields and urban folk as thankless and selfish. They never point fingers at the middlemen and transporters who pocket the major share of final end-user price of farm produce.

It was really outrageous to know that a farmer is getting only 50 paise per Kg of onion for which I paid Rs 20 a week back. But as a consumer in a metro what I can do in this regard. I am also toiling hard to make a living for my family. When farmers are forced to strike and destroy their crops, my vegetable budget soars and monthly budget plans get demolished. What protest I can do, what should I destroy, who will waive off my home loans and educational loans?

During and after surgical strike period, I was asked while jawans are dying in border why you are complaining about standing in queues. Now, I am asked while kisans are dying and not getting their dues, why you are complaining abut vegetable / milk prices.

Please tell me , if I (the common man) didn't exist would there be need for defence and farming? Why you are always putting interests of common man as against that of jawan and kisan??

Have you heard of Modi Fest? This is nothing but rejoicing 3 years in power during which more than 30000 farmers committed suicides and more than 100 inocent lost their lives standing in long ques during demonetisation. If not Modi govt who else is responsible?
