Modi's foreign policy
by natarajan iyer on Sep 17, 2016 01:26 PM

The analysis of Shekhar Gupta,if true ,Shows India in good colours. It is high time we kicked the soft pedalling of Paistan ,China issues to our discomfort .It is high time we star taking steps like Baluchistan , POK etc to show to the world Pakistan in its true colours .Also ,hitting back China on their NSG act is also quite impressive .
If Modi gets to stay for 5 more years ,I am sure ,India will be a more confident aggressive player in the world .

As a senior journalist, author seems to have tried to present the new central Govt's actions vis-a-vis Kashmir and Pakistan, without commenting on the achievements.Clearly it is important to understand whether the approach ,used for decades when didn't give any results is to be adopted or continued to be adopted again or to modify it subject to the given situations?

Modi breaks out from ....
by daniel thorat on Sep 15, 2016 10:19 AM

Unusually, the writer, Shekar Gupta, is openly sycophantic for no known reason. The foreigners` names like Gamal Abdel Nasser and Ho Chi Minh, and many other such things were apt and helpful in the contemporary times and situations. Changing those names or objecting to them now shows a deep set hatred and false pride. India`s on going postures and policies in the matter of minority religions are also not being observed favourably. India`s foreign policies have changed appropriately and can surely not be faulted by our PM now, though he can certainly change them. Shekar Gup0t needs to understand that the success or failure of any foreign policies and other policies of our PM can only be assessed and judged after watching carefully the consequences in terms of our national gain or losses.

Modi Breaks Out from the Past

The assessment is correct, however, our left leaders have to appreciate the progressive change in the light of as to how China and Russia are developing their foreign policies.
Our policies should also help transform the concept of Pan Islamism into a world where all faiths flourish without any coercion and according the sura of Namaz which says that each one should respect one's own religion and let other men respect their own religion and both be happy respecting their religions. To day Kashmir problem is seen by Jehadis in the context of expansion of Islamic state as somewhere prophesied in the past and projected to have been supported by Revered Mohammad Sahib. Jehadis believe is such prophecies and they are their motive force.

The article is highly sycophantic and objectionable mainly because it is not supported by facts. India`sforeign policies and other policies were apt and beneficial for this country. We can certainly change those policies but the success or wisdom of those changes will only be assessed and judged after we see the consequences.
