IT IS GREAT THAT THE THANE POLICE TOOK INIITATIVE TO BUST THIS RACKET. IN INDIA THERE GOES ON A FLOURISHING RACKET CALLED "PHISHING" AND THE GULLIBLE ATM CARD HOLDERS ARE THE VICTIMS.
THE STATE POLICE MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
UP- UTTARKHAND AND BIHAR SEEM TO HOUSE THESE CALL CENTERS..
I am awed at the Citizens who paid up just on the basis of a call without verifying with their Revenue Dept or getting a written order. Could be they had much more to hide than what was told by the Call Centre employee.
what about such call centres calling indians pretending to be a bank staff and asking for their debit card and credit card details. No action has been taken against such call centres.

Yes, well done Mr. Thakare and team for taking quick action. I salute them. All police officer should be like them.
There is a need of formal licensing for call centers with propoer registration with proper business plans and proper checks such that such type of crimes do not take place. The king pin should be made to go for a life term jail. Attempts should be made to suitably compensate most of the people of innocent people USA who had suffered. We have to preserve dignity of our nation and sustain the confidence of foreign companies to have their call centers in India. The Cyber crime branch people should work out strong preventive techniques and robust crime detection techniques. Detection cannot be left to the mercy of a chance statement of a drunkered disgruntled employee to his friend whohappended to be conscious citizen. However, Mahrashtra Police is to congratulated for taking a quick and strong action. All other mushrooming call centers should be immediately investigated and all those who are involved in cyber crimes should be arrested and punished.
