Children
by arungopal agarwal on Oct 23, 2016 07:48 PM

Who is needing these children, only govt. for their vote bank, all development of India is eaten by unwanted population, none of the politician is dare enough even to talk on this subject. Great country to waste tax payers money on many schemes except population control particularly in poor families.
Even we do not find NGOs to take this task, they talk and demand donation for many issues except this particular curse.

You suffer or you fight back
by ganesh pillai on Oct 23, 2016 01:09 PM

Due to their illiteracy, they are not aware of their human rights, but that is not an excuse for country like India which hopes to become a developed nation.

What is the current CM doing about it ? Is he gaining more weight ?

S/YECHURY,D RAJA ..LEFT LEADERS ARE YOU AWARE OF THEIR PLIGHT ?
by damodaran mohan on Oct 19, 2016 04:39 PM

I must compliment Rediff for having highlighted and brought to the center of attention plight of the people. However the destitution and poverty to this level is there in many remote rural areas of the country especially in eastern Indian states of Bengal,Bihar,Orissa etc.I wonder why the Left leaders like Sitaram Yechry, the Karat couple, D Raja etc. and the other communists are not taking up cause of such poorest of poor in the country ? Instead Sitaram Yechury,D Raja ..are becoming Kashmir and Hurriyat expert who are rolling in luxury ! Shouldn't the left leaders care for these destitutes instead ? No wonder the Left leaders are turning into political fossils !

Those people are grossly responsible for this sorry state of affairs.

Poverty
by arungopal agarwal on Oct 08, 2016 12:59 PM

This will never end, as all tax payers money is officially looted by Govt. servants and politicians in their salary, perqs. and pension.
Shame to all where people do not have Rs.100 per day job, Govt. takes burden of Rs.1 lac crore p.a. impact of wage/pension revision.

Wage war against malnutrition
by Thing on Oct 08, 2016 08:47 AM

It seems like the govt. alone is incapable (for whatever reasons), to solve this problem. There is need for private entities or NGOs focused on nutrition to step in and do something. It is a national shame if children are dying of hunger and malnutrition. The PM has asked Pakistan to jointly wage war against poverty. Here is one example of where something has to be done on war footing.
