Old relics
by Aurobindo Ghosh on Dec 19, 2016 01:25 PM

These are old relics of the Cold War with few upgrades. They could be shot down with shoulder launched heat seeking missiles too easily. In 1999 an Indian Mig 27 was shot down using such a weapon. I believe ground forces are best suited for places like the Indo-Pak borders.

Intelligence across the border should get the co-ordinates correc
by rajesh venkatraman on Nov 29, 2016 05:14 PM

Next step is for the intelligence to collate all info regarding the enemy targets in PoK and Pak to be filled in and also the real time targets which will help to make a sweep of the targets without much damage to our forces and assets. we need to hit them hard where it pains rather than the human targets. There could be many installations of the pak defense in the civilian areas too to make sure they are not detected or later claim that Indians are targeting civilian areas. With precise bombings its good to target and damage them completely rather than shooting in the dark.
We need to have more such radars and defense equipment which will help us warn of the incoming projectile and destroy them within the pak airspace itself. The R&D should be concentrated in the areas of nightvision equipment, protective gears for the soldiers and precise and quick firing arms and ammunitions that are laser guilded to hit the target precisely,
We also need to use the space tech which will give us the real time details of the troop concentration and mobile enemy targets like tanks, warplanes, missile launchers, military and high profile civilian assets like communication towers (mobile and LL), industries of key value and of politicians, radio and TV stations and satellite channel centers, command centers and key buildings like parliament, defense training centers, stock exchanges, roadways, bridges, air ports, rail lines, sea ports etc

The Technocrats & the scientists deserves a pat on their back to make the Jaguars upgraded. An Army can combat the enemy if they have an upgraded weapon system.

Nice to know, we must depend more on such technology instead of importing very costly aircrafts from abroad, Actually our requirement is for our neighbours excluding China, for China and for world, only missiles can work.
