With passing away of Sri Balamurali, this nation has physically lost the last doyen of Classical Music. Now we have next generation of musicians. Sri Bala Murali refused to get classified or typified. He defied logic and our imagination. He preserved his self-respect which many did not appreciate. He adored his Guru and those who showed such reverence towards him, he took them to his heart. He was child-like in conversation and on stage he was a colossus. I fervently wish that this generation enjoys his creativity and discipline to bhava, lyrics and laya. We often make this mistake of trying to summarise such a genius in few sentences. Let us not. He is of a special mix and a gift to avid listener of Music.We pay homage to him in our own hearts by offering him gratitude for the sweet taste of music he left us with.
