Clarify doubts?
by Kundapur Kumar on Nov 26, 2016 08:02 PM

Govt. and even some members of highest judiciary raised doubts about collegiate system adopted by the judiciary to appoint Judges. However CJI is rigid on not to change the system. As judges are the final authority to give justice to the citizens it is up to CJI to maintain its reputation. Simply filling the vacancy of judges without considering all aspect of integrity and background of the judges may effect millions of helpless citizens who goes to court as a last resort of their lost hopes. It is true that now a days judiciary lost the reputation of its past glory.

The Judiciary needs attention from government, CJI opinion should be viewed seriously. This is a government of intelligent people including outstanding law minister. Common Indians need reform in judiciary to gain confidence in it.

And the debate continues!
by Ramesh Kapoor on Nov 26, 2016 06:24 PM

Its like what came first, the hen of an egg! CJI blames the Center and the latter returns dubious recommendations from the judiciary panel! Why not have Judicial Service Commission which will include representation of both Judiciay and the Center.

immediate appointment of judges in all courts as per the CJI
by olympic cargo on Nov 26, 2016 06:19 PM  | Hide replies

THE GOVT OF INDIA MUST PERMIT THE JUDICIARY TO APPOINT JUDGES IN VARIOUS COURTS OF THIS COUNTRY IN THE INTEREST OF FAST DISPOSAL OF LONG PENDING CASES AND BAIL OUT THE CITIZENS FROM TENSION , TIME AND FINANCIAL PROBLEMS.

IF THE APPOINTMENTS ARE DELAYED FOR DECADES THEN THE INCREASE IN POPULATION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AND INCREASE THE VACANCIES ACCORDINGLY.FOR MEETING THE SALARIES OF NEW APPOINTMENTS THE FACILITIES LUXURY AND SECURITY TO POLITICIANS,MINISTERS IN UNION AND STATE GOVERNMENT CAN BE WITHDRAW. THE AMOUNTS CAN BE SPENT ON VARIOUS WELFARE SCHEMES FOR POOR PEOPLE BY INTRODUCING HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL SCHEMES.

READ CAREFULLY THIS ....5,000 vacancies are there in the lower judiciary in which the government of India has no role to play. That is something only for the judiciary to take care.

Judicial appointments: CJI attacks Centre; law minister disagrees
by susarla suryaprakasam on Nov 26, 2016 05:59 PM  | Hide replies

This is more heard now in the last 2 years than earlier-Why? Whether Modi is subverting judiciary or Judiciary is more concerned with their rights than responsibilities! There are allegations galore on functioning of Judiciary in the last two decades, specially rampant corruption un-investigated. Then the cases of unnecessary prolongation of decisions, un-necessary intervention in administration of Govt. through PILs and suo mottos. Any Govt. steps must come for scrutiny in Courts while the reverse is not the case. Judiciary has become 'by the Judges, for the Judges, of the Judges and none-else".

Problem in India is even minor cases that could be easily handled by local police ,ask the aggrieved parties to file case in courts for example not taking action against hit& run& minor civil disputes etc, cheque bouncing( by calling culprit to PS and counsel to pay etc).Since the police, revenue, and concerned govt authorities fail in their duties public are forced to approach courts which are heavily overloaded already, but have to admit cases even if understaffed. That's why simple cases also takes years in our courts.only Govt only responsible for this state of affairs

Only when state govts could administer well directing the police to help the aggrieved senior citizens, women and poor exploited deliberately by crooked people, not shirking their responsibility. This way state govts could help public in all towns thereby indirectly helping courts too from heavy workload and unnecessary legal heavy expenses to the genuine hapless senior citizens, women & poor.Police, revenue, excise&village panchayats should set good example by doing mediation & good yeomans service to public helping to reduce workload of unnecessary civil cases

Judicial system
by arungopal agarwal on Nov 26, 2016 05:47 PM

Present system is not at all for common man and common man does not have faith in it. So far SC could not eradicate corruption from judicial system, judges are one of highest paid persons including their perqs.
Judges give doublish judgement, every judgement in lower court is challenged in higher court, what is this when law throughout India is same.
