Srinivas Konuri
Senator Kamala Harris.
by Srinivas Konuri on Jan 04, 2017 09:23 PM

Congratulations to Senator Kamala Harris. She is the first Indian-American to be elected to US senate and also only the sixth African-American senator in the history and the first African-American senator from California.

It is an extraordinary achievement! I am sure she will be a worthy successor to Senator. Barbara Boxer. Hope she will accomplish much during her tenure and scale even greater heights.

All the best and Congratulations to Senator Kamala Harris, her aunts and uncle, and all her family.

There is no culture in North India.

Yes, if she had said Indian Culture, it would still have meant South Indian Culture.

Let us remember that Kamala Harris is a daughter of a Jamaican man too. We should celebrate her mixed heritage instead of trying to grab her and make her Indian.
Given the kind of complete hold her Indian side has established on her, I would say she inherits a broad mindedness and inclusiveness from her Jamaican father.

American people accepted Ms Kamala Harris as Senetor but an undisclosed is not willing to accept the pride of a Tamil family. But as a Tamil I hail. It is not necessary that all Indians to have same heritage and culture.
